Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Senior Software Developer -

How the RPMS/FileMan/M/Cache Developer will make an impact:

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of developers to design, program, deploy, and support clinical applications which are part of the IHS Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS).

  • Designs, develops, codes, tests, and debugs complex new software products; or makes significant enhancements to existing software.

  • Analyzes, develops, and recommends technical solutions to support client’s requirements in solving moderately complex application design issues, which may include network platform and system security considerations.

  • Supports application user interface accessibility requirements by understanding and applying best-practice and industry standard approaches to application design and development.

  • Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.

  • Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software and issues related to one or more clinical applications within the IHS RPMS system.

  • Provides input to testers to validate software changes have been met.

  • Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 8+ years of Software Development experience in FileMan/M/Cache

  • General experience includes information system requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing.

  • Ability to translate design artifacts into usable code.

Preferred skills and abilities:

  • 3+ years of experience in the healthcare sector.

  • Advanced knowledge of the VA and IHS environments, RPMS, CPRS, or legacy VISTA.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team with adjusting priorities and deadlines.

  • Understanding of Agile processes and the related QA lifecycle.

  • Proven ability to work on a remote/distributed team.

  • Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server and/or Azure DevOps.

Clearance:

Must be able to obtain an appropriate level Public Trust which requires residency in the U.S. for 3 of the past 5 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $129,813 - $146,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
