Role SummaryPDF Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and distributed systems that power our industry-leading semiconductor manufacturing analytics and connectivity platforms. This role will work closely with cross-functional engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to deliver robust, high-performance solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across advanced semiconductor manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend architecture, cloud-native services, APIs, and enterprise-scale software development. Experience in the semiconductor industry is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices architectures.
- Build high-performance systems capable of processing large volumes of manufacturing, equipment, and analytics data.
- Design execution pipelines, data structures and algorithms with a focus on performance, parallelism, thread safety and distributed execution.
- Collaborate with product management, solutions engineering, and software teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop secure, reliable, and maintainable software following industry best practices.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and system reliability.
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues while driving root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and development processes.
- Support DevOps initiatives including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and cloud deployment strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on backend systems and services.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of the following languages:
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of database technologies including SQL and NoSQL platforms.
- Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and automated testing frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience within the semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, or semiconductor software industry.
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing workflows, yield management, process control, metrology, inspection, or equipment connectivity solutions.
- Experience with large-scale data processing, analytics platforms, or industrial IoT environments.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems integration including MES, SPC, APC, or factory automation systems.
- Experience working in customer-facing technical environments and supporting enterprise software deployments.
Pay RangeCAD $120,000.00 - CAD $160,000.00 /Yr.
