Description

SAIC has an immediate opening for a Senior SETA Systems Engineer to join the newly formed System Engineering and Integration team within the Research, Engagement, and Data Exploitation Office. The System Engineering and Integration branch will be focused on assisting the divisions with program planning and working with the divisional teams to build an executable roadmap to meet the strategic objectives. The team is also responsible for facilitation of governance boards, program reviews, and facilitation of program roadmap meetings. In addition, having expertise in areas such as budget execution, contract management, technical architecture, and data management is strongly desired. Also, having knowledge and technical and system experience in AI and enabling this for Data Exploitation is a plus.

Some of the responsibilities include:
  • Support the divisional teams with development of system objectives and ensure alignment to the department's strategic objectives
  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts in the department to include diagrams and documentation at a high level for the department
  • Take notes at governance board meetings (Engineering and Architecture Review Board) in terms of key takeaways and actions/next steps
  • Participate in working and data community groups and coordinate feedback and department input to data initiatives and efforts
  • Assist in advisory capacity to our Data Repository Team and Strategic Data Office team to support the directorate's data initiatives and requirements for integration with data management tools.
  • Provide systems engineer support to both Data Operation and AI Efforts in the department
  • Assist the FO in the tracking of key management actions to support program execution and review and respond to data calls
  • Ability to create dashboards and management reports for communication of process execution and performance

Qualifications
  • Must currently hold a TS/SCI and Poly in order to be considered for the position
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but commensurate experience can be substituted for the degree
  • Minimum of 14 years of relevant experience
  • Expert level data background
  • Knowledge of the data management lifecycle to include experience in customer Data Management Tools and Processes
  • Knowledge of data models and the Extract Transform Load (ETL) data process
  • Experience in Project Management of IT Systems is a plus
  • Strong communication and writing skills, and the ability to prepare briefings for a varied audience: Strategic, Management, and/or Technical
  • Ability to support both Operational and AI efforts in the department with management and technical team members
  • Skills in using Agency Tools such as Confluence, Excel, and Visio
