The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Information Technology Specialist (PLCYPLN/NETWORK), (GS-2210-11), performing as the Installation Senior Server Administrator/Virtualization Subject Matter Expert (SME), at the 628th Communications Squadron, Joint Base (JB) Charleston, South Carolina

Special Salary Rate: ($75,278 - $97,867) based on experience.

Qualifications/Requirements:
In this position, you will lead our technical team at JB Charleston to oversee the delivery of secure, uninterrupted network services, guiding a team of technical experts while managing network infrastructure in a highly dynamic Department of War (DoW) environment. You will coordinate with commercial vendors, government sponsors, and mission partners to manage contracts and execute infrastructure upgrades with minimal mission downtime. This is a critical leadership role within the 628th Communications Squadron at JB Charleston, SC. The successful candidate will lead the Network Control Center (NCC) in delivering secure, uninterrupted cyberspace operations and ensuring all network and system infrastructure meet stringent DoW cybersecurity standards.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Top Secret" security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
Must be able to obtain and maintain foundational cyberspace qualification within 9 months and resident qualification within 12 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role.
Knowledge of a full range of network systems Local Area Network / Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements, to include knowledge of configuration management concepts and practices.
Knowledge of the network architecture, topology, and protocols typically found at base and lower-level organizations.
Knowledge of network customer use and systems maintenance sufficient to give needed guidance or training to customers and workgroup managers to prevent problem recurrences.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
HIGHLY DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Network Administration (LAN/WAN)
Networking Tools: Network troubleshooting/optimization (i.e. SolarWinds), Network Diagnostic tools (i.e. Wireshark, etc.), Network Vulnerability Scanners (i.e. ACAS) (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution)
System Administration (Windows/Linux Servers)
Scripting: PowerShell
Ticketing Systems: Experience with IT service management platforms like EITaaS is a plus.
Server Configuration & Virtualization (VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V)
Firewall Management
Vulnerability Scanning, Patch Management, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Supervisory and team leadership skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline
