Overview

Edgewater is currently seeking a Security Engineer to support our federal customer in the Washington DC area. This is a hybrid position with a requirement to work onsite one or two days a month, subject to change. You will be utilizing your knowledge of Federal sector security processes, hardening of systems, Active Directory and LDAP management, configuration and design across multiple SSO domains. You will be essential to the team in developing CI/CD within a Azure environment for deploying code.

This is a remote position but requires the candidate to work at the federal site in Washington DC at least one day a month so candidates local to the Washington, DC area strongly preferred.

Due to the contract and nature of the work, US Citizenship is required to obtain a Department of Energy security clearance.

Responsibilities

    • Strong understanding of Security processes in the Government sector
    • Strong understandings of AAA - Authentication, Authorization and Accounting principles
    • Strong understanding of Microsoft Ecosystem such as Azure, Intune, PowerBI, Defender security stack (such as Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Cloud).
    • Knowledge in Splunk, Tenable, Firepower, WebInspect, ForcePoint, and Identity and Privileged Access Management (IAM/PAM) applications such as Safegaurd.
    • Knowledge in Sentinel and Logic Apps are a plus.
    • Work with Software Engineering team to ensure all systems are properly hardened during the implementation process.
    • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and/or LDAP management, configuration or design, PKI, SSO across multiple domains, MFA.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Kanban.
    • Knowledge of Azure DevOps for management of daily work is a plus.
    • Understanding of CI/CD integration is a plus.
    • Provide oversite in Security Product Reviews and Static Code Reviews
    • Provide subject matter expertise on cyber security asks.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in cyber security, information technology or related field or equivalent experience working in field;
  • 7 years of experience supporting IT with 3+ years in cybersecurity;
  • Experience in Linux environment is a bonus;
  • Security certification must have Security+ or higher (CISSP)
  • Microsoft Certifications highly desirable.
  • Understanding of networking preferred.


Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
