Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring a Senior Scrum Master to provide Scrum/Agile leadership, manage teams, and support for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Data Modernization initiative. This role will lead, coordinate, and oversee key modernization activities. This position is fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Leads the implementation and deployment of Agile solutions within technical teams.
  • Facilitates agile ceremonies including daily stand-up, sprint retrospective, backlog refinement etc.
  • Facilitate and prepare for Sprint Review.
  • Mentors and coaches the team in agile techniques and processes.
  • Works directly with development teams up to and including large enterprise transformation efforts.
  • Provides subject matter expertise for Summit coaching materials, offers shared knowledge sessions, and leads retrospectives to promote continuous learning and continuous improvement.
  • Keeps teams and stakeholders current on industry standard Agile and DevOps techniques.
  • Works across team to ensure practices are coordinated.
  • Tracks progress and improvement of teams utilizing new skills.
  • Ensures Jira is up to date and the team is self-organized in its usage.
  • Implements continuous improvement initiatives across teams.
  • Leads day0to0day activities of the VA Data Modernization effort, ensuring alignment with program goals, delivery timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Communicates regularly with stakeholders on status, next steps, delivery timelines, and action items.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor0degree in Information Technology or a related field. (or commensurate experience)
  • 15+ years of experience in business analysis, project management, or a similar role.
  • Certifications such as CSM, CSPO, CAPM etc.
  • Experience leading multiple Scrum Teams and facilitating scrum ceremonies.
  • Experienced in Jira management and confluence use.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to step in, where needed.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in an IT environment.
  • Experience in managing PI Planning.
  • Experience managing employees and guiding towards success.
  • Certifications in TIL Foundations, ITIL Service Level Management Practitioner, other ones can be PMP, CSM
  • Skillset that includes Operations Manager, Multi-team scrum Ceremonies, Agile Methodology, Microsoft Suite, AML Tools, Scrum, Kanban

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust
