What is the Opportunity?

Commercial Business Technology (CBT) seeks a Senior Scrum Master to drive the Edge journey within the epiX program, building next-generation business banking solutions. This role focuses on medium-to-complex Agile initiatives, fostering collaboration between teams and stakeholders to ensure product quality, value, and technical delivery. Join a transformative program solving critical challenges for RBC's commercial banking clients, impacting millions of Canadians daily.

What will you do?

Coaches development team of scrum principles, helps the team focus on sprint goals and to achieve their highest performance level, to ensure the scrum project is successfully progressed. Applies extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments.

Initiative Delivery
  • Facilitate end-to-end Agile initiatives (initiation to release), ensuring alignment with RBC Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Manage roadmaps, risks, financials, and shared services dependencies.
  • Oversee sprint cadence, release planning, and deployment coordination.


Team Facilitation
  • Lead medium-to-large teams in collective decision-making, goal setting, and conflict resolution.
  • Proactively remove impediments (e.g., external dependencies, process bottlenecks).
  • Champion a safe, trusting team environment and drive continuous improvement.


Cross-Functional Communication
  • Ensure transparency through status updates, product demos, and retrospectives.
  • Report progress to leadership and stakeholders; manage financial tracking.


What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have
  • 3+ years as a Scrum Master in multi-Agile team environments (medium-to-large scale).
  • 5+ years in software development, project management, or business/systems analysis.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.

  • Experience with Digital projects.
  • Background in matrix environments (e.g., large corporations).
