Employer: Bristol-Myers Squibb Company Job Title: Senior Scientist, Mass Spectrometry Location: 1 Squibb Drive, New Brunswick, NJ 08903 Wage Range: $135,970.00 - $147,830.00 Bristol-Myers Squibb Company is hiring a(n) Senior Scientist, Mass Spectrometry (in New Brunswick, NJ). Duties: Independently design, develop, and execute methods capable of trace-level, quantitative analysis of impurities in drug substance and drug product using innovative and robust LC/high-resolution mass spectrometry workflows. Apply high resolution MS and MS/MS techniques for the structural characterization of impurities and degradants arising in small molecule drug compounds. Characterization of biologic therapeutics using mass spectrometry driven peptide mapping analysis to support pharmaceutical formulation development activities. Involved with instrument maintenance and user training. Influence scientists and initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and evolution of our structure elucidation capabilities. Engage in active discussions within team meetings and deliver high quality data within timelines. Collaborate with other subject matter experts to continually develop project knowledge, meet project goals, and enable capabilities within the department. Presentation of scientific data, drafting of expert technical reports, and representation of the analytical function in matrix team meetings. Expansion of skills in techniques beyond the primary expertise of mass spectrometry, such as NMR, to become a more complete structure elucidation scientist. Telecommuting permitted on a hybrid schedule as determined by the employer Requirements: Employer will accept a Require PhD degree or foreign equivalent degree in Chemistry, or a related field, and one (1) year of related work experience. Must have one (1) year of experience with/in: • Developing and running mass spectrometry-based quantitation assays that are capable of trace level analysis; • Analyzing impurities and/or degradants using LC-MS, with accurate mass, and MS/MS for the characterization and assignment of unknown chemical structures; and • Operation and trouble shooting of a variety of modern Thermo-Fisher Scientific mass spectrometers including data analysis with Xcalibur. Must have six (6) months of experience with/in: • Utilizing Python, R, and MATLAB languages for data analysis and visualization.
