As a Senior Scheduler working in the Technical Office team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a pivotal role driving collaboration and communication as it relates to scheduling multiple types of projects. Supporting our large-scale building and infrastructure projects - from $150 million and more - you will provide support to Project Directors, Project Managers and superintendent in the creation of scheduling strategy during pre-construction phase. You will also oversee scheduling progress during execution phase.
What You Will Do:
• Prepare and submit the project baseline schedule according to the contract and specifications.
• Work with your team to maintain accurate schedules and clear communication, while staying focused on evaluating real progress.
• Effectively review, interpret, and update the construction schedules and project milestones.
• Effectively analyze schedule data and variances to identify and troubleshoot key project issues, implementing required development and maintenance.
• Organize baseline schedule development and progress updates with the project team.
• Implement scheduling norms and standards, respecting internal processes regarding scheduling management.
• Prepare progress reports, issue progress schedules to the client, and support the project team with client schedule-related meetings.
• Integrate progress, analyze data, identify variances, and propose mitigation measures.
• Produce documentation including narratives and resource curves.
• Develop, review, and analyze budget and cost monitoring activities, perform cost control/analysis, and assess performance during progress updates.
• Assure the cost and schedule integrity process measurement by maintaining the alignment between deliverables, work packages and standard WPS.
• Prepare contract claims and negotiate contract revisions, adjustments, and additions with stakeholders
• Represent the company on matters such as RFQ/RFP processes and contract negotiations.
• Prepare the procurement schedule, including the process of purchasing building materials and assigning activities for subcontractors and project-dependent crews.
• Submit scheduling contractual documents as per internal processes and participate in client scheduling meetings if needed.
• Lead schedule update meetings with participation from subs and/or project partners.
• Act as communication support between schedule stakeholders.
• Supervise and coordinate tasks/activities of coordinators and schedulers within the project or across smaller projects and be responsible for the quality of their work.
• Ensure new employees are trained on Pomerleau's best practices and scheduling techniques.
• Depending on the scale, work in parallel on multiple projects.
• Assist with risk analyses and oversee cost loading in the schedules.
• Participate in the change management process.
• Be a key member of the project wrap-up process.
This role could be for you if you have:
• Completed a construction related certificate program, diploma or degree.
• 7-10+ years of hands-on scheduling experience in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, in industrial, building or civil infrastructure projects
• Used most recognized scheduling software in your previous experiences such as Primavera P6
• Project control experience such as cost loads, risks analyses, change management processes
• Curiosity and rigorous, also good communication skills
• This role requires eligibility to obtain a valid Government of Canada security clearance. Preferred candidates eligible for clearance will be prioritized.
