SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on
Senior Salesforce Developer with strong
Marketing Cloud expertise to join our Salesforce Center of Excellence. This is a hands-on solutioning and development role - the successful candidate will personally analyze requirements, design solutions, and build and implement them through configuration and code. Following the partner-led implementation of our Marketing Cloud platform, this role takes technical ownership of the delivered solution - maintaining and operating what has been built, reviewing the implementation against Salesforce best practices, ensuring long-term supportability, and solutioning and implementing ongoing enhancements directly.
Marketing Cloud experience (Marketing Cloud Next, Data Cloud-native) is a must, and experience with
CRM Analytics (CRMA) and Manufacturing Cloud is strongly preferred.Detailed DescriptionResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Personally solution and implement Salesforce changes end to end - analyze requirements, design the solution, and build it hands-on through configuration and code (Apex, Lightning Web Components, flows).
- Serve as the technical lead and senior subject-matter authority for the Marketing Cloud platform, owning technical standards, design decisions, and the enhancement roadmap.
- Take technical ownership of the partner-delivered Marketing Cloud solution - maintaining, operating, and continuously improving it once initial deployment by the external SI is complete.
- Review the delivered implementation against Salesforce best practices, identify gaps or technical debt, and lead remediation to ensure the system is sound, scalable, and supportable.
- Work hands-on in Marketing Cloud Next - building and maintaining segmentation, journeys, content, and activation natively on Salesforce Data Cloud.
- Translate business requirements from stakeholders and the Business Transformation leader into technical designs, enhancements, and new capabilities focused on marketing engagement and customer data.
- Operate and govern sending infrastructure: branded subdomains, domain authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), deliverability, and consent/preference management.
- Maintain and enhance customer data flows and integrations between Marketing Cloud Next, Data Cloud, and source systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Own and run a modern Salesforce DevOps practice using Gearset - version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, environment strategy, and metadata backup/restore.
- Develop and maintain Apex, Lightning Web Components, flows, custom objects, fields, and validation rules according to evolving requirements, applying sound architectural and coding standards.
- Define and enforce development standards, code-review practices, and organization-wide protocols for proper use of Salesforce across teams and partners.
- Maintain system security including sharing rules, role hierarchies, and field-level security, and ensure all changes follow Celestica internal processes.
- Evaluate and operationalize emerging Salesforce capabilities (including Agentforce / AI-assisted marketing), and lead seasonal release readiness across Marketing Cloud and connected clouds.
- Where an external SI is engaged for new workstreams, provide technical oversight, quality-assure delivery, review SOWs, and hold partners to delivery and documentation standards.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to admins, developers, and analysts within the CoE.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, reports, dashboards, and standard operating procedures.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies- Proven experience as a Salesforce technical lead or senior developer - owning technical design, setting standards, and providing direction to teams and external partners.
- Hands-on experience delivering and operating Salesforce Marketing Cloud is required, with Marketing Cloud Next strongly preferred (Data Cloud-native segmentation, journeys, and activation).
- Practical experience with email/landing-page delivery, branded subdomain setup, domain authentication, deliverability, and consent/preference management.
- Salesforce Platform Developer 1 (PD1) and Platform Developer 2 (PD2) certifications are required.
- A Marketing Cloud certification (Administrator, Email Specialist, or Consultant) is strongly preferred.
- Data Cloud certification is a strong plus.
- Strong command of Salesforce architecture, security model, and development tools (Apex, Aura Components, SOQL, Lightning Web Components).
- Proficiency in declarative automation tools (Flow Builder, Lightning App Builder, etc.).
- Experience with DevOps processes (e.g., Agile) and tools such as Gearset, Azure DevOps, Copado, etc.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence across marketing, sales, and IT.
- Ability to work independently and as the technical anchor for a team.
- Experience with CRM Analytics (CRMA) and Manufacturing Cloud is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Typical Experience- 8+ years of Salesforce experience with a proven track record in platform solution design, development, and administration, including senior/lead responsibility.
- Hands-on Marketing Cloud delivery experience, ideally including Marketing Cloud Next / Data Cloud.
- Experience leading or coordinating external SIs and implementation partners.
- Experience with DevOps tools (Gearset, Azure DevOps, Copado, etc.).
Typical Education- Bachelors Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Location: This is a remote position, with travel as necessary. We are open to considering candidates close to any of our US locations in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona, Oregon or California as well as locations near major airports such as the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Pacific Coast.
