Full Job Description
Senior Sales Manager
A Day in the Life

No two days in hotel sales are exactly the same. You may start your morning welcoming a prospective client to the hotel for a personalized tour, spend part of your afternoon developing a strategy to grow a key corporate account, and finish the day responding to an RFP or connecting with a new business in the market.

The Senior Sales Manager plays an important role in driving revenue by developing new business, growing existing accounts, and building strong relationships throughout the community. You'll work closely with the Dual Director of Sales, General Manager, Revenue Management, and hotel team to identify opportunities, strengthen market share, and ensure our sales efforts support the overall success of the hotel.

Some days will keep you in the hotel preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, following up with clients, and reviewing account performance. Other days may have you visiting local businesses, attending networking events, participating in community organizations, entertaining clients, or representing the hotel throughout the market.
What You'll Own

Working in partnership with the Dual Director of Sales, you'll take ownership of assigned accounts, market segments, and business development efforts while helping execute the hotel's overall sales strategy. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Generating new business through prospecting, outside sales calls, networking, referrals, lead generation, and community involvement
  • Developing and growing relationships across corporate, group, government, sports, association, leisure, and other assigned market segments
  • Managing assigned accounts and identifying opportunities to increase production, strengthen relationships, and capture additional market share
  • Responding to RFPs and inquiries, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing business
  • Conducting hotel tours and site inspections that showcase the property and create confidence in our team
  • Partnering with the Dual Director of Sales, General Manager, and Revenue Management team to execute strategies supporting occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and total hotel revenue
  • Reviewing market activity, account performance, pace, and business trends to identify new sales opportunities
  • Maintaining an active sales pipeline and consistent follow-up with prospective and existing clients
  • Maintaining accurate account information, sales activity, production, and forecasting within company and brand systems
  • Representing the hotel at networking events, community organizations, chambers of commerce, trade events, and client functions
  • Building strong partnerships with hotel operations to ensure a smooth transition from the sales process to the guest or group experience
  • Serving as an experienced resource within the sales effort and supporting the Dual Director of Sales with special projects, sales initiatives, and market development
What You Bring

We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, pursuing opportunities, and turning connections into results. The ideal candidate will bring:
  • Previous hotel sales experience, preferably within a branded hotel environment
  • A demonstrated ability to develop new business, manage accounts, and achieve sales and revenue goals
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • An understanding of hotel sales strategies, market segments, and revenue performance
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to interact with clients, community partners, hotel leadership, and ownership representatives
  • The ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, deadlines, and opportunities while maintaining consistent follow-up
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Director of Sales and hotel team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with hotel sales, CRM, brand, or revenue management systems preferred
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent hotel sales experience will also be considered
