Senior Sales Engineer who'sexperienced technologist; comfortable at the intersection of technology and business. The Senior Sales Engineer should be able to demonstrate the ability of thinking strategically about business, technical challenges and solutions while influencing internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with Sales, Professional Services, and Product Management to ensure customer success in designing, and implementing data security projects in the public cloud as well as on premise.
Key Areas of Responsibility- Present to existing and potential customers, partners, and at national events (including; development staff, CXO's, and analysts) information concerning the technical and business benefits of Thales cybersecurity solutions
- Using consultative selling skills, lead deep architectural discussions and designs with key customers to understand technical requirements, business direction, in order to help them define their technical needs and recommend solutions that meet those needs utilizing company products
- Passionate about helping customers protect their most important assets, their data
- Work closely with Product Management team to identify, evaluate, and make technical recommendations regarding strategic product enhancements based on market initiatives, new technology, partnerships or customer requirements
- Arrange and deliver internal and external workshops on topics such cybersecurity industry-trends, best-practice, etc.
- Maintain a high degree of technical awareness of relevant products, competitors, and trends in the marketplace
- Subject matter expert / technical leader within the organization, and Trusted Advisor to our top customers
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree in a technical subject (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering) or equivalent work experience
- 5- 10 years of experience pre-sales working experience for an enterprise software, security company
- Cybersecurity Industry expert. Knowledge of competitors, industry trends, compliance/regulations, and cybersecurity in general best practices.
- Ability to think strategically about business, technical challenges and solutions
- Enterprise software pre-sales and deployment experience across private, public and hybrid clouds
- Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers
- Experience implementing and managing storage encryption with external key managers using KMIP protocol
- Demonstrable experience in implementing App-Level Encryption or Tokenization using Rest APIs, and languages such as C++, Java, python, etc
- Experience with networking and Security infrastructure, e.g., firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, Networking (on-prem, hybrid, cloud), DLPs, CASB, etc
- Experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, especially in Secrets Management, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Docker
- Encryption - Thorough knowledge of encryption (Including symmetric encryption algorithms AES-CBC/CFB/CTR/GCM, DES, 3DES, asymmetric encryption algorithms RSA, ECC, DSA, Hash algorithms, SSL, and Post-Quantum Algorithms) solutions and technology available with different on-premise as well as in the cloud
- Public Key Infrastructure-Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade Public Key Infrastructure and its deployment is a must. Familiarity with PKI and digital certification with HSM integration is mandatory for this role
- Code Signing - hands-on experience in enterprise code signing, including workflows/processes and leveraging HSMs.
- Experience implementing and managing TDE database encryption with an HSM and External Key Managers
- Demonstrable experience integrating applications with General Purpose Hardware Security Module using APIs such as PKCS#11, MS CAPI/CNG, OpenSSL, and Java
- Experience with networking and Security infrastructure, e.g., firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, Networking (on-prem, hybrid, cloud), DLPs, CASB, etc
- Experience securing data in the cloud using Public Cloud Native security solutions (Key Managers, Encryption services, etc)
Special Requirement- Up to 40% Travel withing North America (US and Canada)
The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC):138,223.20 - 230,372.00 CAD Annual .
