About The Role

The Senior Sales Development Representative (SDR) sits within the NA Commercial organization and is fully dedicated to our Mobile Payments product line, serving primarily government and public sector customers - municipalities, transit authorities, universities, airports, and other public agencies - along with private parking operators.
This is a pure prospecting role. The Sr. SDR generates and qualifies leads through outbound and inbound prospecting (phone, email, social), builds and prioritizes target lists, and books qualified meetings for the appropriate Regional Sales Director - not managing the full sales cycle. Because government buying cycles involve budget cycles, procurement processes, and multiple stakeholders, the Sr. SDR must be comfortable adapting outreach and pacing accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
- Qualify inbound sales inquiries to determine next steps and resources
- Schedule meetings and hand-off qualified prospects to appropriate sales team members
- If appropriate, retain prospect and work to close win business
- If appropriate, nurture opportunities in "fly over" market, to close
- Create targeting prospecting campaigns by reaching out by phone and email
- Document and maintain prospect status, data integrity, and records of interactions in Salesforce
- Partner with Regional Sales Directors to develop strategies to target prospects
- Put together reports and dashboards that visualise the activity of the Commercial team
- Report monthly on KPIs regarding the new business pipeline
- Comfortable learning and using software tools such as MS Office, Salesforce, Power Bi, Looker, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.
- Work to continuously improve the lead generation process and commercial team reports
- Conduct targeted market research and document findings in Salesforce
- Commercial Team special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales
- Use Salesforce (SFDC), Govspend (to identify and prioritize government and public sector agencies), AI-powered prospecting tools, and other prospecting tools we launch to build targeted account and contact lists and run outbound campaigns
- Maintain a disciplined, consistent prospecting cadence across phone, email, and social channels
- Work closely with Regional Sales Directors to align on target accounts, messaging, and territory priorities
- Find creative, new ways to generate and book qualified meetings for Regional Sales Directors beyond standard call and email outreach
Key Requirements
- 3+ years' experience in sales, sales development, marketing, account management, or customer service
- Experience in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Experience with high-volume outbound calling and emailing
- Able to gather and synthesize information accurately and quickly from multiple sources, including for reports
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and advanced Google research skills
- Proven ability to learn new software quickly
- Prior experience with Salesforce or another CRM; experience generating Salesforce reports is an asset
- Prior experience with Power BI or other analytics tools is an asset
- Experience with sales engagement/prospecting platforms (e.g., Govspend, AI-powered tools) is an asset
- Experience prospecting into government or public sector accounts (municipalities, transit agencies, higher education, airports, etc.) strongly preferred
- Familiarity with government/public sector procurement processes (RFPs, cooperative purchasing agreements, fiscal year budgets) is an asset
- Experience in a similar software/tech environment highly regarded
- Experience in parking is an asset but not required
- Post-secondary degree is an asset but not required
What We Offer
Compensation: The expected base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $85,000 CAD. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
