Senior Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role promotes a strong safety culture across all operations, worksites, and field personnel while minimizing workplace risks and preventing incidents.
Location: Houston, TX Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments at field and office locations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor contractor and employee compliance with safety requirements.
- Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training sessions.
- Track and report safety metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
- Support emergency response planning and preparedness activities.
- Collaborate with operations and management teams to promote continuous safety improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of safety management experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, HSE standards, and industry best practices.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OHST preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel up to 75% to field locations and work in demanding operational environments.
