In this position, you will lead consistent implementation of the SMS elements, programs, standards, and practices within your respective region, while providing senior-level safety subject matter expertise and leadership. You will also play an active role in advancing Enbridge's safety culture.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage and support key SMS programs, including Business Unit Safety, Contractor Safety Management, and Driving Safety, while leading program-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety standards, policies, procedures, training materials, and program documentation through stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Identify program gaps, assess business and regulatory needs, and design practical solutions that enhance safety performance, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide senior-level subject matter expertise on safety regulations, governance, risk management, Management of Change (MOC), and safe work practices to support decision-making and program development.
  • Evaluate, audit, and assure program effectiveness through assessments, continuous improvement activities, regulatory interactions, and internal/external audit support.
  • Deliver training, coaching, and operational support to stakeholders, while administering safety systems and tools, driving awareness, and ensuring alignment with Health & Safety standards.


Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related area.
  • 6+ years of pertinent experience in occupational safety and wellness within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industries. For candidates who do not possess a university degree, an additional 3-years of related experience is required (total of 9+ years).
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing safety management systems, safety programs, and MOC processes, with a strong understanding of North American health and safety regulations.
  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, contractor management platforms (e.g., ISNetworld), driver safety programs, commercial motor vehicle requirements, and related company systems and databases.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Professional safety certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional [CSP], Certified Industrial Hygienist [CIH]) preferred, with the ability to partner with consultants and external professionals, adapt to changing environments, and travel cross-border as required.


Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Working Conditions:
  • Office environment.
  • Occasional travel (approx.10-15%) to other locations within North America. Valid passport is required.
