Job Description:Parsons is now hiring for a
Senior Roadway Engineer to join our
Kansas City Transportation team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to expand in your technical skillset, working alongside a world-class team of civil engineers on major regional infrastructure projects!
The ideal candidate will report remotely, based in the Kansas City area.
What You'll Be Doing:- Lead the design and development of roadway projects, including concept, preliminary and final design, alignment, grading, and pavement design.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and address any issues that arise.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is desirable
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- Minimum of 8 years or more of experience in roadway design engineering
- Solid roadway geometric design background with proficiency in roadway design software (e.g., MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads)
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT design standards and guidelines
- Intermediate skills with Excel
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
