Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Resilience Project Manager to join any one of our offices that is located within the Central or South Florida Region.

 

Come join Dewberry’s multi-disciplinary team of resilience services professionals dedicated to reducing risk to flooding and hazards as a Senior Project Manager playing a key role in growing our resilience and water resources services. In this role, the person will have responsibilities that include client relationship management, project management, technical leadership, and sales. Candidates must have a proven track record of successful project management and sustaining strong client relationships. The individual selected for this position will work closely with Dewberry’s national experts in resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation, and will have opportunities to support Dewberry projects in other markets.

 

Responsibilities
  • Candidate will serve as a senior project manager on a variety of projects related to resilient infrastructure planning and design, hydrologic/hydraulic/coastal modeling, GIS mapping, risk and vulnerability assessments, and related services.
  • Work responsibilities may include:
    • Managing, leading, executing, and providing technical support for resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation projects within the municipal, regional, and Federal markets.
    • Leading the development or implementation of climate adaptation and resilience plans, strategies, and similar policy initiatives.
    • Communicating with clients, establishing goals and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client.  Leading meetings with internal staff and subject matter experts on basic and complex projects.
    • Leading teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentation, as well as developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for various projects.
    • Supporting business growth goals; winning new resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation projects and adding new clients.
    • Travel to and from in-person meetings on a frequent basis, in Florida and Alabama.
    • Other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills & Required Experience

 

  • BS degree in civil engineering, climate science, natural environmental science, or related field, with emphasis in resilience; Masters’ degree and/or PhD in similar field preferred.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in resilient infrastructure planning and design, Florida design regulations, water resources engineering, benefit-cost analysis, and GIS.
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing tasks or technical support work related to the Resilient Florida Program, with documented success on completion of projects on schedule and under budget.
  • Nature-based mitigation design experience in urban, rural, and coastal landscapes.
  • Proven record of managing an inter-disciplinary team and delivering projects within a matrix organization successfully, profitably, and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • At least 5 years of independent client management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills with clients in the Florida region are required, as this is a leadership position requiring the individual to manage clients and mentor staff.
  • PE (or ability to obtain within 12 months), PMP (or ability to obtain within 12 months), CFM preferred.
