McKesson has an opening for a Senior Replenishment Buyer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inventory replenishment duties for designated accounts/distribution center(s) to include inventory management, adherence to McKesson's SLA goals, and the management and analytics of forecasting trends (demand forecasting and lead time forecasting).
  • Establish, maintain, and expand regular communication with external customers (suppliers, vendors, etc.) and internal stakeholders (distribution center managers, purchasing team, etc.), ensuring quick response times and satisfactory problem resolution and developing strong customer partnerships to ensure the success of McKesson's buying programs.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing Directors and Business Analysts make recommendations on improvements to internal processes and vendor management best practices including plans to roll-out changes and mentorship of other buyers through the change processes.
  • Manages a portfolio of supplier accounts to ensure each distribution center has adequate stock to meet our customers' needs; portfolios generally have significant breadth of scope and complexity with high impact to revenue and AOP.
  • Evaluates and negotiates standard lead times with suppliers in portfolio to maintain consistent and predictable deliveries ensuring internal stakeholders (Product Management Directors, Purchasing Leaders, DC Leaders) are aligned to and informed of any changes; independently coordinates changes with vendors and distribution leaders.
  • Works with suppliers to ensure item supply statuses are provided to McKesson and are captured and conveyed to our customers; portfolio typically consists of suppliers and items with higher rates of supply constraint requiring more oversight, communication, and intervention.
  • Independently evaluates supplier performance and develops, presents, and discusses necessary action items during supplier business reviews.
  • Collaborates with other buyers and product management teams to ensure supply coverage across items within a Generic ID; makes recommendations to bring in inventory for items produced by suppliers that are managed by other buyers to improve McKesson's overall product availability where appropriate.
  • Recommends sourcing action to Product Managers and sourcing partners where appropriate to maintain surety of supply.
  • Responsible for maintaining an adequate in-stock position of inventory, ensuring that inventory is turned consistently to maximize sales while minimizing impact to working capital and loss in shrink on a broad and complex portfolio of suppliers and products.
  • Assist Purchasing Directors and Lead Buyers in mentoring and training less experienced members of the Buyer Team on the use of tools and best practices. Training usually focuses on key areas of deep subject-matter expertise rather than the full scope of purchasing processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education & Minimum Requirements
  • Ideally a 4-year degree in Supply Chain or related quantitative or health care related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

  • Typically requires 7+ years of experience in healthcare, supply chain, or similar field or an equivalent combination of education and experience including 5+ years of relevant purchasing, sourcing, demand planning, supply planning, supply chain, or healthcare experience.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching peers on best practices in areas of expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer or supplier relationships and work effectively in a highly matrixed organization.

Work Environment

  • The selected candidate must live within a 50-mile radius of our Irving, TX Office location, as the expectation will be that the Employee will have a hybrid/remote schedule and be required to work on-site a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.
