General Summary:

Senior Reliability Engineer - Data Center Products

The Senior Reliability Engineer will support reliability qualification and validation activities for Qualcomm's next-generation data center products, including AI accelerators, compute modules, servers, and rack-scale systems. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop reliability plans, execute qualification testing, investigate failures, and drive design and process improvements to ensure robust product performance and quality.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in reliability engineering, failure analysis, qualification methodologies, and statistical data analysis. Experience with semiconductor, package, board-level, system-level, or data center product reliability is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Reliability Engineering (e.g., reliability analysis, stress testing) experience or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Reliability Engineering (e.g., reliability analysis, stress testing) experience or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science, or related field.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support reliability planning and execution for advanced semiconductor and data center product programs.
  • Develop and execute reliability qualification plans, including environmental, mechanical, and life testing.
  • Coordinate qualification activities across design, product engineering, test engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
  • Analyze qualification and reliability data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform failure analysis reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Help define reliability requirements, test conditions, and success criteria for new products and technologies.
  • Apply statistical techniques to assess product reliability, process capability, and failure rate predictions.
  • Support ongoing reliability monitoring and field quality improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare technical reports and present qualification status, risks, and recommendations to project teams and management.
  • Contribute to design-for-reliability (DfR) activities throughout product development.


Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD with 1+ years of relevant industry experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering, product engineering, quality engineering, test engineering, or a related field.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Reliability Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience with reliability qualification methodologies and industry standards such as JEDEC, IEC, Telcordia, or similar.
  • Familiarity with reliability testing such as HTOL, HAST, THB, temperature cycling, mechanical shock, vibration, ESD, latch-up, or package qualification.
  • Knowledge of reliability principles, failure mechanisms, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor, package, board-level, system-level, or data center hardware products is a plus.
  • Experience with reliability software tools, data analytics tools, or scripting languages such as JMP, ReliaSoft, Python, or equivalent is desirable.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$104,000.00 - $156,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
