Full Job Description
As a Senior Relationship Manager within Broker Relations, you will serve as a central point of accountability for Vanguard's strategic broker/dealer relationships, partnering across Investment Management and corporate functions to maximize the value of these partnerships.

You will be responsible for developing and executing relationship strategies, advocating for Vanguard's interests externally, and connecting internal stakeholders with broker capabilities to support Vanguard's investment outcomes and client mission. This role offers meaningful exposure to senior leadership and market participants across the global financial ecosystem.

Relationship Ownership & Strategy
  • Own and manage a portfolio of strategic broker/dealer relationships as the primary point of contact for Vanguard
  • Design and execute relationship management strategies and annual plans aligned to business priorities
  • Drive relationship outcomes that enhance trading capabilities, market access, and long-term strategic value


Internal Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders (e.g., Fixed Income, Equity, ETF Capital Markets, PRD) by representing their needs with external brokers
  • Build deep understanding of internal business priorities to ensure broker engagements are aligned and value-additive
  • Connect senior Vanguard leaders with broker counterparts to strengthen firm-to-firm relationships when appropriate


External Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with broker leadership across trading, sales, and management teams
  • Serve as a credible and informed advocate for Vanguard, influencing outcomes through strong negotiation and relationship skills
  • Identify opportunities to deepen partnerships and expand engagement across broker platforms


Governance, Insights & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead regular relationship reviews, business updates, and senior engagement forums to drive accountability and transparency
  • Evaluate broker performance, service quality, and overall satisfaction; identify opportunities for improvement
  • Surface emerging risks, vulnerabilities, and market developments impacting broker relationships


Collaboration & Team Contribution
  • Partner closely with analysts and team members to leverage data, reporting, and insights to inform decision-making
  • Contribute to broader team priorities, initiatives, and strategic projects
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment aligned with Vanguard's mission and values


Minimum Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in relationship management, capital markets, asset management, or a related field


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing institutional financial relationships (e.g., brokers, banks, asset managers)
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, trading workflows, and investment management
  • Proven track record of influencing outcomes across complex organizations
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and executive audiences
  • Demonstrated interest in or experience leveraging data, analytics, or AI-enabled tools to drive insights, improve processes, or enhance decision-making


This role is part of our hybrid work model with three days a week required in our offices in Malvern PA. Fully remote work is not available for this role.
