Full Job Description

The  Senior Relationship Advisor works closely with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients on some of the most important financial and personal decisions. The Senior Relationship Advisor builds long-term relationships, delivers personalized advice, and collaborates within a team-based model that brings together deep expertise across disciplines. At Northern Trust, our fiduciary mindset shapes how we work—focusing on long-term outcomes and helping clients move forward with confidence. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

 Manage and deepen client relationships - Manage a portfolio of sophisticated wealth management high touch clients. Serve as a trusted advisor, building strong relationships and developing a deep understanding of each client’s goals, priorities, and family dynamics.  

  • Guide clients through complex decisions - Lead client conversations and translate complex wealth planning topics into clear, practical advice that helps clients make informed decisions. Using  fiduciary expertise, guide decisions, identify risk, and ensure clients are supported with care, integrity, and precision.  

  • Bring together the right expertise - Partner across trust, tax, estate, investment, and planning to deliver integrated solutions—working within a coordinated team.  

  • Contribute to the broader team - Support colleagues, and help shape solutions in complex situations.  

  

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE   

  • Experience: A College or University degree is required/preferred. 12 -15 years industry experience required in trust administration, estate administration, estate planning, or a related field, ideally with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.   

  • Strong track record of managing complex client relationships and navigating sophisticated investment, tax, legal, and operational matters.  

  • Solid foundation in fiduciary and financial products and services, along with knowledge of the laws, regulations, and standards that support strong client outcomes.  

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, plus strengths in problem solving, leadership, and business development.
