Responsibilities

  • Assist with full-cycle accounting for skilled nursing facilities, handling bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed asset depreciation

Senior Reimbursement and Audit Accountant
On-Site 2-3x weekly| Montebello, CA
$100,000 - $110,000 per year

NewGen Administrative Services partners with skilled nursing facilities to deliver compassionate, person-centered care. We're looking for a Senior Reimbursement and Audit Accountant to own full-cycle accounting for multiple facilities, support Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, and help our teams make smarter, data-driven decisions.

What you'll do:

  • Gather and analyze data to complete Medicare and Medicaid cost reports; respond to auditors with supporting documentation and reconciliations
  • Partner with General Accounting, AP, Payroll, Internal Audit, and facility personnel to support audits and special projects
  • Support business intelligence initiatives, including dashboard creation, data validation, and management reporting
  • Prepare financial reports and required government submissions such as 571-L, census, and EEO-1 reports
  • Assist with full-cycle accounting for multiple skilled nursing facilities, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset depreciation


What you bring:

  • Must have: Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Must have: Audit experience, ideally in healthcare; ability to coordinate with auditors and provide detailed analysis
  • Must have: 5+ years of GL accounting experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Must have: Experience with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, plus balance sheet reconciliation
  • Must have: Highly advanced Excel skills and experience managing and analyzing large datasets
  • Must have: Strong communication skills, deadline orientation, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
