Full Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Regulatory Legal Counsel to lead and advise on complex regulatory matters, including privacy, age verification, online safety and consumer protection, age-appropriate design, competitions, user generated content, blockchain, payments, artificial intelligence, etc. This role involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to help shape legal strategy for a fast-moving, continually evolving global business.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead complex legal matters and provide strategic legal advice for regulatory areas across jurisdictions
  • Draft or review terms of service, privacy policies, EULAs, rules-of-conduct, competition rules, policies, etc.
  • Product counseling
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries
  • Advise and educate stakeholders throughout the company and Legal Dept regarding legal obligations and strategy
  • Ensure alignment with global standards on data protection, consumer rights, and AI governance.
  • Oversee and manage external counsel
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to global business teams, helping to mitigate risk and guide decision-making.
  • Drive the development and implementation of global policies and compliance programs and scalable legal processes.
  • Monitor evolving legal trends and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and legal teams in other regions to support global initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and support to other members of the legal team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience managing complex matters.
  • Excellent judgment, analytical capabilities, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable advising senior executives and influencing business strategy.
  • Communication wizard that can distil complex concepts to easy to understand actionable advice
  • Experience building regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably in a variety of circumstances.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across time zones and cultures.
  • Experience working in a global organization or with international stakeholders is preferred.
  • Experience managing regulatory compliance globally, or in multiple regions, is highly preferred.
  • Experience with video games, entertainment, IP, or software technology is a significant plus.
  • Experience using generative AI to perform legal work and manage projects is a significant plus.
  • Experience with compliance with AI regulations and legal risks is a significant plus.
  • Experience with employment law and employment matters is a plus.
  • Strong individual contributor with 'roll-up sleeves' attitude, but who is also a team player, helping drive team success.
  • Knowledge of Korean or other foreign language is a plus.

In California, the expected salary range for this position is $147,000-$202,000. The listed expected salary range represents a good faith estimate and the actual pay may depend on a variety of job-related factors that can include experience, education, skills, and location.
