Responsibilities

  • Contact candidates through various channels to present job opportunities and maintain consistent follow-up
  • Screen candidates by phone for fit assessment based on job profile
  • Conduct external searches via Boolean searches and LinkedIn to identify potential candidates
  • Identify internal candidate pools through discussions with hiring managers and talent management
  • Define job profiles through consultation with hiring managers
  • Present strong candidates to hiring management for interview consideration
  • Negotiate offers with selected candidates based on budget and individual circumstances
  • Ensure candidate and new hire data is accurately processed in Workday
  • Create engaging job postings and marketing materials
  • Mentor and train less experienced recruitment professionals as needed

Full Job Description

Job Summary
The Senior Recruiter strengthens Cardinal Health’s talent pipeline and human capital by identifying and acquiring talent for executive positions within an assigned segment of Cardinal Health. The Senior Recruiter stewards the full recruitment lifecycle, including defining talent needs with hiring managers, conducting internal and external talent searches, contacting and assessing candidates, presenting top candidates to managers, and negotiating offers of employment. This job also manages job postings and new hire data through Workday in order to facilitate candidate tracking and onboarding of new hires.

Responsibilities

  • Through phone calls, emails and social media, contacts candidates identified through internal and external talent searches to pitch the opportunity. Follows up consistently with top candidates through multiple contact methods.
  • Conducts initial screenings of candidates by phone to assess their fit for the position, including whether their experiences match the job profile.
  • Uses methods such as Boolean searches and data mining on LinkedIn, to conduct external talent searches to understand the talent market for the position and to proactively identify candidates.
  • Through discussions with the hiring manager and Talent Management stakeholders, identifies strong internal candidates. Holds conversations with candidates’ managers and analyzes candidates’ talent review documentation as necessary to discuss their fit for the position.
  • Defines the job profile through kick-off calls and ongoing discussions with the hiring manager. Understands the job’s core purpose and responsibilities, qualifications and personal factors necessary for a successful candidate, and the budget for offers.
  • Following assessment of candidates, presents strong candidates to the hiring manager to determine which candidates to interview.
  • After final interviews and decision by hiring manager, negotiates offers with candidates based on established budget and each candidates’ unique situations.
  • With the support of a Coordinator, organizes logistics and accommodations for candidate travel, ensures proper travel reimbursement, and scheduling of interviews.
  • Processes candidate and new hire data in Workday and related systems to ensure the proper tracking of candidates and onboarding of new hires.
  • Develops appealing job posting and other marketing materials based on the job profile and creates job posting through Workday.
  • Given level of experience and subject matter expertise, coaches and leads trainings for less experienced Recruitment professionals within Talent Acquisition teams.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • 7 years’ recruiting experience in full life cycle recruiting environment preferred. One year of experience in retained search or recruiting executive level talent at a Fortune 500 company environment, preferred

  • Prior experience recruiting for professional level roles including, but not limited to, sales, marketing, accounting/finance, information technology, or clinical areas highly preferred

  • Strategic, independent and progressive thinker

  • Consultative with the ability to influence others

  • Ability to recruit and successfully close passive candidates

  • Strong interpersonal, time management and verbal communication skills as well as sound presentation skills

  • Ability to establish effective partnerships internally and externally, at all organizational levels and across boundaries

  • Exhibits excellent client relationship skills; communicates proactively and consistently with hiring managers and candidates

  • Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR), preferred

  • Advanced Internet Recruiting Strategies (AIRS), preferred

Anticipated salary range: $105,100 – $165,110
