About this Role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Fiduciary Specialty Asset Manager to support Real Estate Asset Management Services within its Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) division.

This role is responsible for managing a complex portfolio of specialty real estate assets held in fiduciary accounts, with a primary focus on agricultural properties, farmland, rural recreational land, and related agricultural holdings throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The successful candidate will provide strategic asset management, client advisory, and fiduciary oversight while balancing client objectives, risk management, regulatory requirements, and investment performance expectations.

In This Role, You Will

  • Manage a portfolio of agricultural, ranch, residential, and other specialty real estate assets held within fiduciary accounts.
  • Develop and execute asset management strategies designed to preserve asset value, optimize performance, and align with client and fiduciary objectives.
  • Oversee asset acquisitions, dispositions, leasing activities, and ongoing property operations.
  • Evaluate and negotiate agricultural, grazing, hunting, residential, and commercial lease agreements.
  • Coordinate property inspections and monitor asset conditions, maintenance needs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Supervise third-party vendors, contractors, property managers, brokers, and consultants.
  • Review and interpret appraisals, broker opinions of value, environmental reports, surveys, and other due diligence materials.
  • Analyze financial performance, operating results, and market trends to develop recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver asset reviews, portfolio reporting, and investment recommendations.
  • Partner with attorneys, accountants, trust officers, relationship managers, and other internal business partners to support client objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with fiduciary obligations, regulatory requirements, governing instruments, and Wells Fargo policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, beneficiaries, and internal partners through proactive communication and exceptional service.
  • Provide informed guidance regarding agricultural land use, ranch operations, mineral and surface rights considerations, and market conditions affecting owned assets.

The portfolio for this role will primarily consist of:

  • Farms and ranches
  • Agricultural land holdings
  • Rural recreational properties
  • Working agricultural operations
  • Select residential real estate assets
  • Select commercial real estate assets

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Fiduciary Specialty Asset Products experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications

  • Significant experience within the agricultural real estate industry, including management of farms, ranches, row crop operations, recreational land, and income-producing agricultural assets. Experience across asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, valuation, lending, underwriting, and property management is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Midwestern agricultural operations and land markets, including row crop production, cash rent and crop-share lease structures, conservation programs, drainage and water management considerations, hunting and recreational land use, and agricultural land valuation. Familiarity with the agricultural real estate markets of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin is highly desirable.
  • Experience serving high-net-worth clients, trusts, estates, family entities, or fiduciary relationships within a financial services, wealth management, trust, or real estate environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of wealth management and fiduciary practices, including trust administration, estate planning concepts, asset preservation strategies, and fiduciary risk management.
  • Advanced financial and analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate property financial performance, cash flow, operating statements, valuations, investment returns, farm profitability metrics, and regional market trends to develop informed asset management recommendations.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client and professional relationships with attorneys, accountants, farm operators, agricultural consultants, brokers, property managers, and other stakeholders, resulting in exceptional client service, asset retention, and business growth opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, or a related field. Advanced degree and/or professional designations such as Accredited Land Consultant (ALC), CCIM, CFA, CPA, CPM, or other relevant agricultural or real estate credentials are preferred but not required.
