Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) business area is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer with a background in Quality Engineering or Mechanical Engineering for a position based in Arlington, TX to support THAAD Interceptor Development.

What You Will Be Doing
This position will require collaborating with a team of multi-functional stakeholders, both Internal and External to Lockheed Martin, and will require domestic and international travel (
Responsibilities include:

Facility Verification: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that quality is integrated into the development process for upcoming THAAD missile sustainment facility. Integrate and verify Quality Standards and Requirements are being implemented and maintained.

Tooling and Test Equipment: Support build and verification processes to ensure that acquired THAAD tooling and test equipment meet performance requirements and design specifications. Review .

Transition to Post Production Support: Provide quality engineering support to transition LM Sustainment processes to overseas facility, including resolving quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and improving testing/manufacturing processes. Support will continue from development through initial post production activities as quality lead through Facility and Process Verification, while integrating and providing technical hand-offs to vendor quality engineering for follow-on support.

Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to optimize quality, efficiency, and productivity in facility and process development.

Supplier Quality: Collaborate with overseas supplier to ensure that their components and systems, as well as their sub-tiers, meet quality standards, including auditing and assessing supplier quality systems.

Communication: Communicate quality-related information to stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and customers, and provide regular status updates on quality metrics and issues.

This position requires working on-site in Arlington, TX Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday each week.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in STEM, or equivalent years of experience.

Intermediate to Advanced Quality Engineering knowledge, such as Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Failure Analysis, Standards and Practices, and Data Analytics.

Intermediate to Advanced Mechanical Engineering knowledge, such as mechanical design, analysis, and testing, including experience with CAD Software and/or Finite Element Analysis.

Basic to Intermediate Systems Engineering knowledge, such as system design, integration, and testing.

Ability to effectively communicate, interface, and cross-functionally collaborate with Major Vendors, within Lockheed Martin, and with our Customer counterparts.

Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Desired skills

Bachelors degree or higher in STEM.

Advanced understanding of Quality principles in Aerospace industry (AS9100).

Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.

Familiarity with Quality Assurance principles including auditing, inspection, and testing.

Experience with Electrical Systems such as Power Distribution, Electromechanical, Electronic Control, Communication Systems, and Sensors/Instrumentation

Experience with Mechanical Systems such as Aerodynamics and Propulsion Systems, Structural, Guidance, and Thermal Management Systems.

Experience with metric development utilizing digital and AI solutions.

Experience with tooling, shop aide, and test equipment used to execute functional testing, performance testing, and environmental testing.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $93,800 - $162,610. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
