Resp & Qualifications PURPOSE: Responsible for developing, modifying, and executing software test plans, test scenarios, defines and solves for test data needs, automated scripts, and programs for testing in order to ensure the outgoing software and technical products meet and exceed quality standards. Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their root causes. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software engineers and product owners. Participates in the review of software design and leads the team in supporting the overall quality of various software systems and applications. Develops a strong understanding of the business processes being tested and mentors junior staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Responsible for analyzing the moderately complex requirements, operational problems, specifications and change requests. Produce test plans and test cases to determine presence and scope of potential code defects. Monitor accurate and thorough test cases, scripts and data with pre-determined results within specified scheduled dates. Perform test execution of all assigned test cases. Research and provide technical support on operational/test system defects and propose solutions.
- Analyzes test results to ensure functionality meets requirements and recommends corrective action if necessary. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of systems, application interfaces and application software.
- Guide and mentor team of testers in support of the projects and day-to-day to testing effort. This is also includes supporting and working with associates, contractors and third-party resources.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Computer Science OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 5 years' Experience in software development and/or testing.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience: 5+ years of overall QA experience, with at least 4 years focused specifically on Facets application testing.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of US Healthcare Payer/Provider business logic, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL is mandatory.
- Experience in Clinical Editing process is preferred (ClaimsXten. Lyric, etc.,)
- Experience in Agile methodologies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): - Module Validation: Perform functional, integration, and regression testing across core Facets modules, including Claims Adjudication, Membership, Benefits.
- EDI/HIPAA Testing: Validate inbound and outbound EDI transactions (837 Claims, 834 Enrollment, 835 Remittance, etc.,) to ensure accurate data mappings and transformations.
- Test Strategy & Documentation: Translate complex technical/business requirements into actionable test scenarios, comprehensive test cases, and precise test scripts.
- Backend Data Validation: Execute complex SQL queries for backend data analysis, reconcile claims outcomes, and identify root causes of data discrepancies.
- Defect Management: Identify, log, track, and retest defects using management systems like JIRA. Collaborate with developers and business analysts on defect resolution.
