Senior PT Trader – Brokerage
Role Summary
The Senior Program Trading (PT) Trader is responsible for the execution and oversight of institutional equity program trading activity, including portfolio trades, index rebalances, and basket executions across the Americas.
The role requires advanced execution judgment, deep market‑structure expertise, and the ability to operate autonomously within established best‑execution, risk, and control frameworks.
The Senior PT Trader serves as a subject‑matter expert for program trading workflows and execution practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute complex institutional program trades, portfolio baskets, and index rebalances across the Americas while meeting client instructions and best execution standards.
• Choose the right execution approach, broker strategy, and algorithm selection based on market conditions, liquidity, and risk.
• Partner closely with PT Sales Traders, Hybrid Traders, and regional equity desks to ensure seamless trade flow, accurate handoffs, and timely execution.
• Monitor execution quality and trading outcomes, identify risks or breaks early, and escalate issues with urgency and sound judgment.
• Operate within trading limits, entitlements, and control frameworks while maintaining compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support audit, compliance, and regulatory reviews by clearly documenting execution decisions, trade rationale, and outcomes.
• Use pre trade and post trade transaction cost analysis to shape execution strategy, evaluate results, and assess broker performance.
• Help improve program trading workflows, controls, and platform enhancements to strengthen execution quality and operational discipline.
• Serve as a trusted subject matter expert for clients and internal partners by explaining execution strategy, outcomes, and controls with clarity and confidence.
Qualifications & Experience
• College degree or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of institutional equity trading experience with a focus on program trading, portfolio trading, or similar complex execution strategies.
• Strong understanding of equity market structure, liquidity, execution venues, and algorithmic trading strategies.
• Proven ability to manage large and complex trade flow with sound judgment in fast changing market conditions.
• Track record of delivering best execution while maintaining strong risk awareness and operational discipline.
• Ability to communicate clearly with institutional clients and internal stakeholders on execution strategy, outcomes, and trading considerations.
• Established institutional client relationships are preferred.
• CFA, MBA, or similar advanced credentials are a plus, along with comfort using data and analytics to support execution decisions and transaction cost analysis.

Salary Range:
$160,100 - 272,300 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
