ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration, and project management services supporting mission-critical federal programs. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Support Specialist to provide support to the Business Relationship Management (BRM) Team within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) for HQ/Goddard locatedat NASA Headquarters in Washington D.C.

Job Description

The Senior Project Support Specialist serves as a strategic partner for the OCIO BRM Team at HQ, providing administrative, operational, and project support, including collaborating closely with personnel across all levels at HQ for coordination of IT projects.

This position is responsible for ensuring seamless IT project coordination in enterprise environments through proactive planning, communication, and cross-organizational collaboration. The successful candidate will anticipate team and customer needs, independently manage competing priorities, exercise exceptional judgment, and support high-visibility initiatives that directly contribute to the effectiveness of NASA's HQ/GSFC OCIO leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the HQ OCIO BRM team.
  • Provide IT project coordination and facilitation of collaboration across multiple groups, teams, boards, and forums.
  • Provide action item, risk management, and issue resolution tracking, and status reporting.
  • Prepare and coordinate up to executive level meetings, communications, briefings, reports, and presentations.
  • Monitor emerging priorities and provide the team with timely updates regarding organizational impacts and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflow documentation, and processes that improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline administrative operations, improve customer service, and enhance support processes.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.


Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced and high visibility executive-level environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.
  • Proven ability to anticipate executive needs and proactively resolve issues before escalation.
  • Strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to exercise discretion while handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Familiarity with NASA Headquarters administrative systems, organizational structure, and executive operations strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and workflow systems preferred (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira).
  • Familiarity with methodologies and frameworks such as SDLC, Agile, Scrum and Waterfall.
  • Must meet NASA suitability requirements, including background investigation and citizenship/permanent residency requirements.


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of related professional experience; or
  • 7-8 years of related professional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience supporting leadership-level personnel at NASA Headquarters preferred.


Location
  • This position requires a minimum of four (4) days per week onsite. Employees may be eligible to telework up to one (1) day per week, subject to customer approval.
