Job Description:

The Senior Project Scheduler / Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing complex project schedules supporting infrastructure and transit projects, in New York City. The successful candidate will provide scheduling expertise, support project planning and execution, and ensure schedule integrity through the use of Primavera P6 and other scheduling tools. Experience with local projects and familiarity with scheduling requirements and reporting standards.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for independently creating, updating and monitoring Project schedules in P6 in accordance with customer specific standards and templates
  • Being fully knowledgeable with the project contractual requirements, will be responsible to coordinate closely with local project teams, contractors, and stakeholder and ensure compliance in execution and reporting Work with the Core Team to generate and validate monthly and quarterly updates of EAC and labor demand
  • Provide reports/metrics including Critical Path, Earned Value, EAC variance, Critical milestones movement, KPIs & labor forecasts.
  • Conduct scheduling risk analysis and analyze the data in these reports to identify trends, risks, and issues & work with the Core Team to resolve them by providing mitigation strategies to minimize project delay
  • Support critical Bids that require a full schedule in the Bid submission:
    • Read the tender documents,
    • Assess all contractual requirements for both the Bid submission and the Contract execution,
    • Assess compliance, feasibility and risks
    • create a comprehensive and effective Schedule Narrative when required
    • Produce an estimate of the level of effort for the planning function in the project
    • Lead the creation of a project schedule to the level required to be submitted in the bid
  • Manages both progress against the Baseline schedule; and change to ensure the contractual deliverables and the company's position are protected by monitoring schedule performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) and other relevant metrics.
  • Very good understanding of the S-Curve outputs. Can provide meaningful commentary on S-Curves, relate back to the schedule and other schedule outputs. Can communicate outputs to the Core Team in a simple and useful manner. Able to produce S-Curves from scratch
  • Experienced in dealing with Customers and Suppliers and negotiating with / influencing their schedulers using commercial acumen at its expert level is to provide what a customer wants and being cost-effective.
  • Will connect the customer, senior management, Project site, the product and departments together and utilize how they work.
  • Experienced in inputting into the Project change management process and calculating the schedule implications of all changes and ensuring they are incorporated into the Project through Change orders.
  • Experienced in attending risk and opportunity reviews , calculating schedule impact of risks and opportunities and managing assigned mitigation / action items
  • Foster an environment of cooperation, commitment and buy-in amongst the Project Team members and the Heads of Disciplines
  • Work effectively within a global environment with stakeholders who are geographically dispersed
  • Generate clear comprehensive reporting to management and customers as required by process or contract
  • Support the Core Team with creative and effective rationale in the justification and documentation of the basis of Claims and Variation orders during project execution
  • Provide guidance/support as required for the project schedulers and project planners
  • Contribute to process improvement by identifying ideas for improvement and following through to implement where possible


Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of scheduling experience in complex technology projects, with at least 3 years supporting New York projects.
  • Expert level skills in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project software and working knowledge of schedule integration and cost/resource loading. (Knowledge of TILOS & Primavera Risk analysis a plus
  • Advanced/Expert skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), project controls, and construction sequencing.
  • Self-starting; proactive, able to work independently with little oversight or guidance
  • Able to plan and manage project schedules requiring over 1,500 activities
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of TILOS & Primavera Risk analysis will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge or even work experience for our competitors for bid planning is an asset which will provide insight into our complex transit projects.

Estimated Salary Range: USD $104,115 - $131,790 / year
