Job Summary: The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating multiple complex projects while directly overseeing project teams and employees to ensure alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets. The Senior Project Manager drives project success while cultivating a high-performing, inclusive team culture.
Essential Job Duties:- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact projects on time and within scope
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, team members, and external customers and vendors through active listening and empathy
- Navigate conflict and change with composure, diplomacy, and emotional awareness
- Mentor and coach project team members, fostering a culture of psychological safety and continuous growth
- Translate complex project goals into clear, actionable plans while maintaining team morale and motivation
- Facilitate open, honest communication and create space for diverse perspectives
- Monitor project performance and proactively address risks, actions, issues, and decisions
- Champion a people-centered approach to project delivery and organizational success
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple related, complex projects
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including timelines, budgets, and status reports
- Ensure alignment of project objectives with organizational strategy and stakeholder expectations
- Identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues that impact program success
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
- Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and tools
- Support, actively participate and act in accordance with Wright's culture of safety and employee ownership
- Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
- Handle multiple assignments and special projects and other duties as assigned
Supervisory Duties:- Provide direct supervision of project management office (PMO) staff, including performance management, coaching, and professional development
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements: - Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
- Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, JIRA, MS Suite, MS Project)
- Ability to perform the responsibilities of the position well under pressure
- Must be adaptable to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
- Ability to deal with and find a resolution to problems and maintain a productive working relationship with employees which may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of others
- Ability to fluctuate between priorities daily while being responsive to needs as they arise
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors
Education, Certification & Experience Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in project or program management, including team leadership
Other Preferred Requirements:- Master's degree in Business, Management, or a related field is preferred
- PMP, PgMP, CSM or equivalent certification preferred
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
