Position SummaryOtter Tail Power Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of large-scale transmission projects critical to delivering safe and reliable energy. This role is responsible for managing projects across the full lifecycle-from planning and permitting through construction and project closeout-ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
The Senior Project Manager works in a collaborative, matrixed environment, partnering with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to align priorities and drive successful project outcomes. This role plays a key part in advancing infrastructure initiatives that support Otter Tail Power's long-term strategy.
The Senior Project Manager reports to Manager Project Portfolio.
What You'll Do- Manage transmission projects from planning through construction, including scheduling, budgeting, and oversight.
- Manage contractors and field activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and construction standards
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to maintain alignment and drive project progress
- Identify and manage project risks, resolving issues and adjusting plans to meet schedule and cost expectations
- Utilize project management tools, data, and reporting to track performance and support decision-making
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Experience leading complex infrastructure or utility projects, including full lifecycle delivery with accountability for construction execution
- Strong expertise in project management disciplines, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and structured PMO/stage-gate processes
- Demonstrated experience in field operations, contractor management, and QA/QC oversight to ensure safe and high-quality execution
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage contractors, and influence without direct authority
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment

- The expected offer for base compensation for this role is $117,000 - $161,000 annually. The actual compensation within the compensation range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
