In this role, you will manage the SOW development process from an approved business opportunity through contract signature, ensuring agreements are commercially sound, clearly scoped, and structured to support successful project delivery. You will work closely with Sales, Legal, Delivery, and Portfolio teams to create consistent, high-quality SOWs while supporting organizational goals around quality, efficiency, and cycle time.

Responsibilities include:
  • Draft and structure Statements of Work for Time & Materials (T&M) and Fixed Price customer engagements using approved commercial templates and deal requirements.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, artifacts, acceptance criteria, milestones, invoicing schedules, and payment terms in alignment with the proposed delivery model.
  • Ensure SOW language appropriately distinguishes between project deliverables and supporting artifacts while maintaining clear contractual expectations.
  • Apply established commercial guidelines and contractual standards related to project acceptance, go-live support, change management, cancellation provisions, and other engagement terms.
  • Develop Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates using historical project information, project complexity, resource requirements, and delivery assumptions.
  • Evaluate proposed project resource mixes to help ensure alignment with delivery requirements and financial objectives.
  • Prepare complete SOW packages for Opportunity Review Board (ORB) or equivalent governance reviews and incorporate stakeholder feedback through final approval.
  • Support SOW Factory performance objectives, including document throughput, quality, accuracy, rework rates, and approval cycle times.
  • Maintain appropriate version control, documentation, and audit trails throughout the drafting, review, redline, and approval process.
  • Draft and structure Project Change Requests (PCRs) to clearly identify changes in customer scope, delivery requirements, costs, and responsibilities.
  • Partner with commercial and delivery stakeholders to support appropriate evaluation and approval of project changes.
  • Identify potential contractual or commercial risks before SOW execution, including unclear acceptance requirements, incomplete pricing information, conflicting document versions, outdated validity periods, or inconsistent contractual terms.
  • Coordinate with Legal and commercial stakeholders to ensure appropriate contractual protections and commercial standards are incorporated into agreements.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Legal, Delivery Project Managers, Industry Portfolio Managers, and other stakeholders to support a seamless transition from opportunity development through signed SOW and project launch.
  • Provide post-signature clarification to Delivery teams when questions arise regarding project scope, assumptions, or contractual intent.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of SOW templates, clause libraries, governance processes, and commercial playbooks.
  • Analyze recurring SOW quality issues and identify opportunities to improve templates, processes, and overall contracting efficiency.
  • Support the adoption of AI-assisted tools and automation capabilities for SOW drafting, project estimation, and related commercial processes.

  • Experience supporting both Time & Materials and Fixed Price engagement models.
  • Experience working within structured deal governance, commercial review, or approval processes.
  • Strong commercial and contract-writing skills, with the ability to clearly define project scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria, assumptions, milestones, and payment terms.
  • Experience developing project estimates, Rough Order of Magnitude estimates, or resource-based delivery models.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify contractual inconsistencies, incomplete information, commercial risks, and potential scope gaps.
