The Role We are adding a Senior Project Manager who will be 100% dedicated to Freight Club, reporting directly to the SVP/GM. This is not a coordination or administrative role. We need a senior practitioner who can build operating frameworks, apply structured methodology (Lean Six Sigma / DMAIC), and drive complex cross-functional initiatives to completion - independently, without requiring SLT members to fill execution gaps.
You will serve as the execution backbone across all of Freight Club's strategic pillars: customer retention, cost optimization, revenue growth, sales effectiveness, and AI & automation. You will own the complete project lifecycle - from requirements through implementation and control - and be responsible for ensuring that initiatives don't stall at 80%.
This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will work from our Gastown office approximately 2-3 days per week.
What You'll DoProject Leadership & Delivery- Own the end-to-end project lifecycle for large, complex strategic initiatives across Operations, Logistics, Sales, and Technology - from scoping and requirements through implementation and control.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma / DMAIC with judgment, calibrating the depth of structure to the risk and reversibility of the decision - full rigor on high-stakes, irreversible initiatives; compressed cycles on the bulk of strategic work; DMAIC-informed sprints on small or urgent problems.
- Build operating models and governance frameworks that enable consistent, repeatable delivery across cross-functional workstreams.
- Identify and resolve cross-functional dependencies, escalating blockers before they become delays.
Stakeholder Management & Alignment- Drive alignment across Operations, Logistics, Sales, Finance, Analytics, and Product - maintaining a single, authoritative view of project status, decisions, and risks.
- Serve as a neutral broker in cross-functional conflicts, resolving issues without escalating unnecessarily to SLT.
- Provide structured weekly status reporting to leadership - clean signal, not noise - so Directors and the GM can focus on strategic work rather than execution-level firefighting.
Requirements & Operational Readiness- Lead structured requirements gathering with all relevant stakeholders, ensuring product and operational needs are fully captured before implementation begins.
- Develop and maintain operational readiness plans - including process documentation, workflow design, team training, and go-live sequencing - for every major initiative.
- Define success metrics and rollout controls upfront, enabling early detection of project failures and disciplined course correction.
Strategic Initiative Tracking & Institutional Memory- Own and maintain the Freight Club Strategic Initiative Tracker, providing real-time visibility across all active workstreams.
- Document decisions, lessons learned, and project artifacts in a way that compounds over time and survives organizational change.
- Identify patterns across initiative cycles and recommend process improvements to the SLT.
Who You Are - Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional strategic projects in a fast-paced technology, logistics, or ecommerce environment.
- Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or DMAIC methodology - you don't just know the acronym, you've applied it.
- The judgment to right-size rigor to the problem - you're comfortable operating at speed in a fast-moving culture without cutting corners on the disciplines that protect against expensive, hard-to-reverse failures.
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment across teams with competing priorities, without relying on formal authority.
- Strong requirements gathering and operational readiness capabilities - you know how to translate strategy into structured execution.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to adapt your communication style from frontline operators to executive stakeholders.
- Experience building and maintaining project governance frameworks, dashboards, and status reporting that actually get used.
Nice to Have- PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
- Experience in logistics, freight, supply chain, or ecommerce operations.
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools (Asana, Jira, Monday.com, or similar).
- Exposure to AI, automation, or data-driven operations initiatives.
What Success Looks LikeIn your first 90 days, you will have mapped the active project pipeline, established a governance cadence, and become the go-to coordination hub for at least two major cross-functional initiatives. Within six months, on-time and on-scope delivery rates will be measurably improving, leadership will be spending less time on execution-level firefighting, and the strategic initiative tracker will reflect the full scope of work underway across Freight Club.
We will measure success by: initiative completion rates (target 95%+ vs. ~80% today), reduction in SLT execution drag, on-time and on-scope delivery across strategic pillars, and the quality and adoption of the operating infrastructure you build. Critically, you will be known for applying the right amount of structure - not the most structure
