Position Title: SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER - BNY MELLON FOODSERVICE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - NEW YORK NY

Salary: 150000 - 175000

Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager will report directly to our BNY Client Lead as well Tom Veripapa, RVP of Operations for BNY. The position will dot line to Anthony Gargiulo - EVP Envision Design Studio at Compass Group supporting all D&C efforts at BNY. The SPM serves as a strategic leader and primary liaison between BNY Mellon's enterprise Design & Construction (D&C) function and its food service operations. This role acts as the on-site subject matter expert for all foodservice-related capital projects, ensuring seamless coordination across stakeholders and full alignment between design intent, construction execution, and operational outcomes.

The position requires close collaboration with third-party program managers (e.g., JLL, Cumming Group), BNY Mellon foodservice and operations teams, the Architect of Record (AOR), General Contractors (GC), and the Envision design team to deliver integrated, high-performance environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Liaison & Project Integration
    Serve as the central point of coordination across all project stakeholders, ensuring alignment between building integrators, internal foodservice teams, and design partners to drive cohesive project delivery.
  • On-Site Technical Leadership
    Provide expert oversight of all foodservice buildouts, ensuring adherence to operational requirements, technical specifications, and industry best practices throughout the design-build lifecycle.
  • Program & Portfolio Management
    Lead cross-functional implementation teams across multiple business lines to execute complex, large-scale construction initiatives within the BNY Mellon portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
    Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings, executive reviews, and reporting to ensure alignment with BNY Mellon's "Future of Food" strategy and broader organizational objectives.
  • Budget & Timeline Management
    Oversee project budgets, manage project timelines, and enhance cost estimation methodologies to support capital planning and financial project performance.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Vendor Management
    Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, consultants, and general contractors to optimize procurement strategies, vendor selection, and competitive bidding processes.
  • Risk, Compliance & Contract Management
    Define and manage contractual frameworks, proactively mitigate risks, and ensure all projects adhere to schedules, client standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in client management and general contracting, with a focus on large-scale capital construction and global client environments
  • Leadership: At least 5 years in a leadership capacity with demonstrated success delivering measurable outcomes and driving transformation initiatives
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of design-build processes, including Architecture & Engineering (A&E), custom millwork, commercial/industrial foodservice equipment, and construction management.
  • Strategic Capability: Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments, negotiate contracts, and lead high-impact project portfolios under tight timelines.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel for off-site engagement and portfolio oversight with on-site project management
