Full Job Description
Are you an experienced project leader with a strong background in modular construction, design-build delivery, and complex stakeholder coordination? ATCO Structures is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Modular Solutions team in Calgary, Alberta. This is a full-time, permanent, in-office position, based out of our Calgary office. As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex modular construction projects across Canada, supporting commercial, education, workforce housing, permanent housing, and shelter-sector clients. You will guide projects from contract award through completion, coordinating design, permitting, manufacturing, procurement, construction, commissioning, closeout, and warranty requirements. Working with clients, consultants, municipalities, utilities, modular manufacturers, subcontractors, and internal teams, you will keep projects aligned with contractual, safety, quality, schedule, budget, and stakeholder expectations. What You'll Do • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, risk registers, and status reports to support successful delivery. • Manage project execution in alignment with the Division of Responsibility (DOR), ensuring roles, accountabilities, interfaces, and handoffs are clearly defined across design, manufacturing, transportation, foundations, installation, and commissioning. • Administer contracts, including bespoke and CCDC contract structures, and manage change orders, claims, progress billings, forecasting, and commercial closeout. • Lead design coordination, constructability reviews, permitting, AHJ responses, inspections, occupancy approvals, and compliance with applicable building codes and regulations. • Develop subcontracting strategies, prepare scopes of work and tender packages, evaluate bids, support negotiations, and ensure subcontract agreements align with project requirements. • Coordinate utilities, logistics, transportation routes, road use permits, crane permits, traffic management plans, and site interfaces to support safe and efficient module delivery and installation. • Serve as the primary client and stakeholder contact, leading project meetings, sharing updates, escalating risks, and supporting timely issue resolution. • Oversee turnover deliverables, deficiency resolution, warranty obligations, and post-occupancy support while maintaining strong client satisfaction outcomes. What You Bring • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline; CET or equivalent experience may also be considered. • 8+ years of progressive project management experience in modular construction, construction management, or design-build delivery. • Experience administering projects under bespoke, CCDC 2, CCDC 5B, and/or CCDC 14 contracts is preferred. • Strong knowledge of modular construction methods, subcontractor tendering, procurement, logistics, permitting, stakeholder coordination, and commercial project management. • Excellent organizational, financial, communication, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to lead complex projects and cross-functional teams. • PMP, P.Eng., CET, or similar professional designation is considered an asset.
