Full Job Description
The Challenge

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure Delivery to join the Enterprise Infrastructure PMO in Austin, TX. This role is for someone who can lead large, complex infrastructure initiatives while helping teams continue to mature from traditional project delivery toward more agile, transparent, and iterative ways of working.

We are looking for that rare candidate who can operate confidently in both worlds. You understand scope, schedule, budget, risks, vendors, governance, and executive reporting. You also understand agile principles, backlog visibility, incremental planning, dependency management, team flow, and continuous improvement. You are practical about where the organization is today and thoughtful about how to move teams forward without forcing process that does not fit the work.

The ideal candidate communicates clearly, organizes complex technical work, secures commitments, manages risks, identifies the critical path, spots edge cases, reviews metrics and delivery data, and keeps stakeholders aligned. You are comfortable working with senior leaders, technical leads, engineers, vendors, business partners, and PMO peers. You continue to move forward in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information, creating enough structure for teams to make decisions, deliver outcomes, and improve how work gets done.

This role is especially well suited for a Senior Project Manager who has successfully delivered complex technology initiatives and is ready to help teams adopt more agile delivery patterns, or for an Agile Project Manager who has the project discipline and stakeholder maturity needed to lead high-visibility infrastructure work in an enterprise environment.

What You'll Take On
  • Proactive Problem-solving: First and foremost you are a problem-solver. You work with infrastructure teams, sponsors, and technical leads to keep work moving, remove blockers, escalate risks at the right level, and drive the best possible outcome for the business.
  • Hybrid Delivery Leadership: You are comfortable leading through both traditional and agile delivery methods. You know when a project needs a clear plan, timeline, budget, RAID log, and governance rhythm, and when a team needs lighter agile planning, backlog refinement, Kanban flow, sprint routines, or iterative delivery checkpoints.
  • Complex Project Ownership: You lead large, high-complexity infrastructure initiatives from initiation through delivery, including planning, scope definition, milestone management, dependency tracking, implementation readiness, stakeholder communications, and closeout.
  • Cross-team Coordination: You coordinate work across multiple technical teams, business groups, vendors, and stakeholders. You identify dependencies early, clarify ownership, secure commitments, and help teams understand how their work connects to the larger delivery outcome.
  • Agile Enablement: You help teams improve visibility, planning, and delivery health without adding unnecessary process. You support backlog hygiene, intake practices, prioritization conversations, working agreements, definitions of ready and done, retrospectives, and practical delivery metrics.
  • Efficient and Effective: You are here to solve business problems, not to create busywork. You simplify where you can, protect engineering time, and use meetings, reporting, and documentation only when they help the team or stakeholders make better decisions.
  • Exemplary Communication: Your written and verbal communication skills are strong. You can distill complex infrastructure delivery details into clear updates for engineers, managers, sponsors, Steering Committees, and senior leadership. You communicate through data, dates, risks, dependencies, decisions, and facts.
  • Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management: You actively manage the health of the initiative. You surface risk before it becomes a surprise, drive mitigation plans, maintain clear decision records, and help stakeholders understand trade-offs related to scope, schedule, cost, quality, and business value.
  • Stakeholder and Sponsor Partnership: You are a trusted partner to sponsors, technical leads, engineering managers, business partners, and PMO leadership. You can manage difficult conversations, align competing priorities, and keep the work anchored to business goals.
  • Budget, Vendor, and Resource Awareness: You understand the financial and operational realities of enterprise technology delivery. You can support budget tracking, vendor coordination, resource planning conversations, and project-based funding discussions with the right level of structure and accountability.
  • Technical Credibility: You are comfortable working with infrastructure teams across areas such as networking, cloud, hosting, endpoint management, media systems, global support, security, telecommunications, virtualization, enterprise platforms, and workplace technology. You do not need to be the technical expert, but you need to understand enough to ask good questions and recognize risk.
  • Self-starter: You move forward in ambiguous environments without waiting for perfect information. You can identify what needs to happen next, bring the right people together, and create enough clarity for teams to make progress.
  • Continuous Improvement: You help improve how project and agile delivery practices work inside the PMO and across infrastructure teams. You look for patterns, share what you learn, and contribute to practical standards, tools, reporting, and ways of working that make delivery more predictable and transparent.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • At least 7 years of project management experience in technology, infrastructure, enterprise IT, or related environments. Candidates with 5 or more years of strong agile project delivery experience may also be considered.
  • Proven experience leading large, complex, cross-functional projects with multiple teams, senior stakeholders, technical dependencies, and high business visibility.
  • Strong project management foundation, including scope, schedule, budget, risk management, issue management, dependency tracking, stakeholder communications, governance, and delivery reporting.
  • Practical understanding of agile delivery methods, including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, backlog management, sprint or iteration planning, retrospectives, team metrics, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to bridge agile teams and traditional corporate governance needs, translating delivery data, team progress, risks, and dependencies into clear project health updates and leadership-level reporting.
  • Experience working with infrastructure, platform, operations, cloud, networking, security, endpoint, service management, media systems, workplace technology, or enterprise technology teams. This role is focused on infrastructure and enterprise technology delivery, not direct software engineering management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams or related projects at the same time while maintaining sound judgment, clear priorities, and strong stakeholder alignment.
  • Strong ability to partner with sponsors and technical leads, navigate ambiguity, manage difficult stakeholders, resolve conflict, and drive decisions without overstepping technical ownership.
  • Experience with financial tracking, project budgets, vendor coordination, resource planning conversations, and cost or benefit analysis is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable using Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and other project, portfolio, or agile delivery tools. Experience improving boards, dashboards, intake workflows, and reporting is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create executive summaries, delivery plans, RAID logs, schedules, decision records, Steering Committee materials, and implementation readiness documentation.
  • Experience with organizational change management, communication planning, implementation coordination, production readiness, operational handoffs, and post-delivery retrospectives.

Great to Have
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM, SAFe, or similar certification is a plus, but hands-on delivery experience, technical credibility, business judgment, and strong communication are most important.
