Full Job Description
What you can expect to be doing:

Haley Ward is looking for a Senior Project Hydrogeologist who will work with the geology team and various project teams. The Senior Project Hydrogeologist will provide technical guidance and recommendations to project teams and clients related to State and Federal regulatory requirements, identifying resolution options, and/or developing creative solutions to meet the project objectives. Projects may include, but are not limited to, subsurface investigations, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, groundwater investigations, contaminated media remediation, geophysical surveys, and management of participation in State or Federal clean-up programs.

Responsibilities
  • Designs and oversees data collection methodologies.
  • Performs environmental services in field or laboratory/office settings such as gathering and measuring field data, evaluating field conditions, logging numerical and visual observations, preparing and packaging samples, and recording test results.
  • Oversees field work performed by staff and contractors.
  • Coordinates and directs field activities, including logging and sampling of borings, test pits, and cores, supervising the investigation work, preparing a detailed document of the study, and identifying potential problems relating to a site.
  • Assistance with scope creation, execution, invoicing, etc., while collaborating with project team.
  • Coordination of field staff and other project personnel to ensure budgets, schedules, and scopes of work are met.
  • Authorship of technical reports, including those compliant with associated ASTM or other standards.
  • Coordination with state and federal agencies.
  • Work with internal business development professionals and other project managers to grow project and client base.


What you will need to succeed:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience preferred.
  • Minimum B.S. degree in Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Registration as a Maine Licensed Geologist and/or New Hampshire Professional Geologist is preferred, or the ability to obtain.
  • OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) 40 hour preferred, or the ability to obtain.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal programs is preferred (Maine Department of Environmental Protection, New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and ASTM Standards).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and other support software including the use of analytical models.
  • Experienced with field investigation methods including soil boring and rock core logging and sampling, monitoring well installation oversight, monitoring well development, rehabilitation, and abandonment, groundwater/surface water/sediment/soil vapor sampling, contamination delineation, and pump tests, among others.
  • ArcGIS or CAD experience a plus
  • Geophysical experience a plus

Location: Saco, Maine - Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work (Required)

The estimated range for this role is: $95,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, credentials, skills, and demonstrated proficiency for the role. Compensation is reviewed at least annually each year. Compensation is also adjusted throughout the year to recognize position advancement, responsibilities and licensure and/or certification.
