Purpose:

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineering Manager to join us in our Calgary, AB office.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams, on key projects, in the oil & gas sector, and within an EPCM environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage engineering team execution on major/large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary engineering teams, coordinating across all engineering disciplines to deliver integrated and technically sound designs.
  • Provide technical and leadership support throughout all phases of the project lifecycle-from project definition and proposal development to detailed engineering and commissioning.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet applicable codes, standards, regulations (including APEGA), and client specifications.
  • Interface regularly with project management, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment and seamless project execution.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, mentoring engineers and supporting professional development.
  • Act as a primary engineering point of contact for internal stakeholders, clients, and third parties.


Technical and Industry Experience:
  • Extensive project engineering management experience on high-value oil & gas capital projects. Specific experience is SAGD and/or gas processing project is ideal.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project execution, project management and project control methodologies.
  • Full life cycle project management experience (FEED to Commissioning)
  • Comprehensive understanding of the project life cycle for high-value gas processing and/or in-situ heavy oil projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong people skills supported by effective decision making and influential negotiation skills.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
  • A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to manage and provide oversite to key capital oil & gas capital projects.
  • Must have an active practicing registration with APEGA or EGBC and the ability to become a responsible member of the company permit if trained and approved.
