Primary Function:

Long Wave Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to provide technical integration and execution leadership across Product Support functions supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This position will primarily support the Curriculum and Training organization, ensuring training development activities remain aligned with system design, engineering source data, program requirements, and key program milestones.

The Senior Project Engineer will serve as a technical bridge between Curriculum, Technical Publications, and other Product Support functions and the broader Engineering organization. This role will coordinate technical dependencies, drive resolution of cross-functional issues, and ensure Product Support teams receive the accurate and timely engineering information necessary to develop and deliver technically accurate products.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical integration and execution support for Curriculum and Training development aligned with engineering source data.
  2. Serve as a primary technical interface between Curriculum and Engineering functions.
  3. Coordinate across Product Support functions, including Curriculum, Technical Publications, Logistics, and other support disciplines.
  4. Identify, track, and drive resolution of engineering and technical source data needs and technical questions or actions.
  5. Evaluate engineering changes, design updates, requirements changes, and configuration changes for impacts to training, technical publications, and other Product Support products.
  6. Support planning and execution of Curriculum milestones.
  7. Participate in engineering and program technical reviews to represent Product Support requirements, dependencies, risks, and downstream impacts.
  8. Work with Product Support leadership, Program Management, and Engineering leadership to develop integrated plans, priorities, schedules, and action items.
  9. Support technical risk and opportunity management, schedule assessments, Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, proposal activities, and other program planning efforts associated with Product Support.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.


Work Conditions:

Employee will be working within an office environment. Employee may be expected to travel on occasion to locations where specific PPE or attire is necessary.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
  2. 8+ years of professional experience supporting complex engineering, aerospace, defense, training system, or related technical programs.
  3. Demonstrated experience coordinating technical execution across multiple engineering or program functions.
  4. Experience interpreting engineering requirements, specifications, system designs, technical data, and other engineering source information.
  5. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve cross-functional technical dependencies, risks, and execution issues.
  6. Experience supporting technical planning, schedules, program milestones, and customer deliverables.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across Engineering, Product Support, Program Management, customers, and senior leadership.
  8. US Citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Security Clearance is required.


Preferred Requirements:
  1. Experience supporting DoD aerospace, aviation, training systems, or other complex defense programs.
  2. Experience supporting Curriculum, Instructional Systems Design (ISD), Technical Publications, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), or other Product Support disciplines.
  3. Experience integrating training development with evolving system design and engineering source data.
  4. Familiarity with systems engineering, configuration management, requirements management, and engineering change processes.
  5. Experience in courseware/learning design and execution/
  6. Experience supporting major program reviews, training milestones, IPRs, validation events, or first-teach activities.
  7. Experience supporting AS9100 or equivalent Quality Management System requirements.
  8. Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is preferred.
