Job DescriptionSenior Project Engineer - Building & Construction - York, PAPossible other locations - Arlington Heights, IL, Elmendorf, TX, Middleton, WI or West Palm Beach, FL. Hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates.What are we looking for?The Senior Project Engineeris responsible for managing and executing complex engineering projects involving building envelope and facade systems, including windows, storefronts, curtain walls, doors, panels, and other building components. The position performs engineering analysis, develops technical solutions and deliverables, manages client commitments, and provides technical guidance to project teams and less experienced engineers. This position may require travel (up to 15% of the time).
What you'll do:- Assume full responsibility for building product projects, including project management and leading project teams
- Conduct research of building codes, regulations, product standards, manufacturing methods, and quality control systems as necessary to assess conformance with building codes and standards for building materials, products and methods of construction.
- Develop product test plans based upon research findings.
- Communicate with clients on building codes, test preparation, procedures, test results, possible plant audits and reporting matters.
- Perform engineering analysis of test results to assess product performance.
- Create comprehensive reports of product evaluations substantiating conformance with codes and related product standards.
- Provide supervision and guidance to lower-level engineering and technical staff.
- Represent Intertek with participation in industry associations and, codes and standards technical committees.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:- Bachelors' degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical or similar) or closely related field of physical science.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in building design and construction, building envelope systems, facade engineering, structural engineering, building products, or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); OR Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (successful completion of the FE examination) with sufficient qualifying engineering experience to obtain PE licensure within 24 months of hire.
- Strong proficiency in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, building codes, standards, test methods, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated experience performing engineering analysis and applying engineering principles to building components and systems.
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, schedules, and client commitments.
- Technical competence to effectively communicate engineering requirements, procedures, specifications, findings, and results with clients and other project stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:- Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire.
- Experience with fenestration, curtain wall, storefront, facade, or other building-envelope systems.
- Experience performing engineering analysis associated with loads, impact resistance, structural performance, static blast, or dynamic blast.
- Experience interacting directly with architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and other A/E/C industry clients.
- Participation in relevant professional organizations, industry associations, or codes and standards committees.
