Full Job Description
CivilCorp, LLC, (an ESP Associates, Inc. company) is seeking an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to join our team in Houston, TX. CivilCorp is a professional service firm offering civil engineering and land surveying services throughout Texas. CivilCorp's main office is in Victoria, TX, with additional offices in Houston, Fulshear, Corpus Christi, and Round Rock. Responsibilities:
  • Apply engineering expertise in the daily operational task of preparing Plans, Specification & Estimate (PS&E), preliminary engineering reports, schematic design, roadway design, TCP, bridge design, drainage design, traffic engineering, and utility engineering for roadway and bridge projects.
  • Assists the Project Engineer in building bridge models and ensure the accuracy of the detailed plans.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Responsibilities will also include maintaining client relationships and close monitoring of project costs.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters of Engineering degree or other professionally recognized equivalent discipline from an accredited program.
  • PE licensure, required
  • 4+ years of work experience in the field of highway design and transportation engineering
  • Experience in designing highway and freeway design projects (PS&E), including horizontal and vertical geometry design, Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) modeling, culvert and drainage design, retaining wall design, quantity calculations, miscellaneous details and development of deliverables.
  • Credible design experience in using and guiding the use of: Microstation, GeoPak (Road and Drainage), OpenRoads Designer (ORD), and OpenBridge Modeling (OBM).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and highway design programs required for use in completing tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working experience in prioritizing and organizing work assignments.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.

Preferred:
  • TxDOT Precertification
  • Ability to create ORD and OBM templates.
  • Recent experience with and knowledge of TxDOT standards, specifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Additional software skills, such as Civil 3D or related disciplines.
