Full Job Description
Iron Mountain is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager - Data Center Design to join our Design and Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the standards, procurement, and design of data center facilities in North America, managing projects with a combined value of $50-70 million annually. You will lead cross-organizational teams to deliver complex design programs while ensuring alignment with organizational standards and global project needs.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

In this role, you will:

  • Lead Project Design: Direct third-party architectural and engineering teams in the design of North American data center projects, providing oversight for budgets, schedules, and high-quality product delivery.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Interface with internal finance, sales, and operations teams, as well as external consultants and equipment manufacturers, to validate build programs and deliver critical infrastructure projects.

  • Support Business Growth: Assist in evaluating potential data center acquisitions and support the sales engineering team by providing technical insights necessary to pursue new business opportunities.

  • Manage Procurement: Oversee the procurement of long-lead, owner-furnished equipment to ensure project timelines and standards are maintained.

  • Ensure Standards & Compliance: Maintain a responsible platform of inclusion and diversity while ensuring all designs meet Iron Mountain standards and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive Experience: At least 10 years of experience in design and construction project delivery, with a minimum of 5 years specifically managing project management teams.

  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of complex electrical, mechanical, life safety, and control systems associated with critical facilities or data centers. Knowledge of national and local building codes.

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to manage complex design programs and build strong relationships with key suppliers, business partners, and internal customers. Professional written, presentation, and customer relationship skills.

  • Education & Certification: A four-year college degree is required; a Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.

  • Compliance & Mobility: US Citizenship is required, along with the ability to travel 25% (including overnight and international travel as needed).

Reasonably expected salary range: $123,500.00 - $164,700.00
