Due to growth, Dematic Corp is growing its Project Controlling organization and seeking multiple Finance Project Controllers across our U.S. locations (Grand Rapids, MI; Atlanta, GA; Wauwatosa, WI; Dallas, TX).
Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role serves as a financial co-pilot to Project Execution teams, owning the financial performance of a project portfolio. The position is instrumental in driving a strong control environment and a predictable financial culture.
This is a highly collaborative role at the intersection of operations and finance, ideal for individuals who thrive in a matrixed environment and want to directly influence business outcomes.
This is a hybrid role (office + remote), with periodic project site visits during key project execution phases.
Tasks and Qualifications:What You Will do in This Role:
- Own and manage EACs (Estimate at Completion), ensuring all deviations are clearly quantified with root-cause support
- Partner closely with Project Management and cross-functional teams to drive project performance and financial outcomes
- Proactively identify, quantify, and mitigate risks impacting project financials
- Lead change order management to protect and enhance project profitability
- Manage cash flow and working capital across project portfolio
- Deliver monthly financial performance reviews to senior leadership (VP/Director level)
- Lead weekly pacing discussions to ensure forecast commitments are achieved
- Develop and improve management reporting and dashboards
- Perform ad hoc analysis to continuously improve project controlling efficiency
What We Are Looking For:
- 8+ years proven experience in project-based business or manufacturing finance
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting prefered
- Proven track record to own results and influence outcomes in a cross-functional environment
- Strong business partnering approach with the confidence to challenge and inspire change
- Highly analytical with strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills
- Genuine curiosity about understanding the business, not just the numbers
- Experience with SAP (or equivalent ERP), Excel, and PowerPoint
