Job DescriptionSUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking a
Senior Project Buyer - Wind that will develop relationships with suppliers, solicit bids, analyze quotations, and select suppliers.
Location: Minneapolis, MNRESPONSIBILITIES - Purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factors
- Propose purchase transactions that higher authority approve prior to final action
- Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers
- Track order status from the time of placing the order until delivery and communicate status to project teams
- Facilitate and run meetings internally and externally
- Enter purchase agreements and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis
- Enter purchase orders and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis
- Visit job sites or offices annually at a minimum to develop more effective working relationships
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or related discipling or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
- 4+ years of procurement experience and/or experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and materials, purchasing processes, and procedures (preferred)
- Project Management experience (preferred)
- Understanding of the construction industry (preferred)
- Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal, and communication skills
- Strong customer service and analytical skills
- Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
- Software experience
- Current driver's license
The base pay range for this role is $85,300 - $128,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
