Position Overview:RDC, an award-winning architectural firm with a diverse portfolio, headquartered in Long Beach, California, is currently seeking a Senior Project Architect to work on a variety of projects. This position requires an advanced understanding of architectural design, technical detailing, building systems, and current construction practices. The primary function of a Senior Project Architect is to develop and coordinate the production of quality contract documents.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in internal project kick-off meetings and understand project scope, milestones, and risk areas in order to establish appropriate QA/QC review timelines.
- Lead and perform QA/QC reviews at defined project milestones (e.g., SD, DD, 50% CDs, 90% CDs, permit sets, IFC) for:
- Adherence to firm and industry standards, clarity, and coordination.
- Constructability and integration with typical means and methods.
- Code, life safety, accessibility, and agency compliance.
- Sustainability goals and project-specific performance requirements.
- Other special conditions or client standards.
- Participate in and provide input to project teams in the production of high-quality drawings and specifications that can be easily interpreted by government agencies and efficiently utilized by contractors in the field.
- Evaluate plans and specifications prepared by internal teams and external consultants (architects, engineers, and other design professionals), identifying conflicts, gaps, and opportunities to improve clarity and constructability.
Qualifications Include: - Accredited architectural degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in architecture.
- Licensure required.
- Proficiency in Revit required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- 3d representation and rendering experience a plus.
- Confident presentation skills.
- QA/QC experience required
