Senior Program Manager, Special Programs

In this role, you will serve as the primary operational lead for Code+ while supporting Duke's broader Special Programs portfolio, including Duke Technology Scholars (DTech), Data Fellowship, and other experiential learning initiatives. You'll collaborate with faculty, researchers, technology leaders, industry partners, and students to create innovative project opportunities that address real-world challenges and support Duke's educational and research mission.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Business, Education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in program management, technology programs, experiential learning, workforce development, higher education, nonprofit administration, or a related environment.
  • Strong understanding of technology fields, including software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, cloud technologies, and emerging technology trends.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other technology platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing technology-focused experiential learning, student engagement, workforce development, or educational programs within higher education.
  • Experience working with software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, cloud technologies, research computing, or related technology initiatives.
  • Experience developing partnerships with faculty, researchers, employers, sponsors, donors, and industry partners.
  • Experience creating marketing, communications, recruitment, and outreach materials.
  • Familiarity with platforms that support program administration, engagement, assessment, relationship management, and reporting.

Other Requirements

Ability to travel occasionally to support program activities and stakeholder engagement.

Availability for occasional evening and weekend events.
