Summary
The Senior Program Manager will manage a consistent portfolio of programs related to a set of customers or to a product line. This role is a management position, with a team of Program Managers as direct reports.
The Senior Program Manager role will lead program managers and all the stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and economic performance of the programs in their scope while monitoring and mastering risk level. This role is responsible for conducting program activities in consistency with the SAFRAN Program management referential: PROMPT, ONE Safran and associate Group Procedure
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Program Manager is accountable for achieving program objectives on the programs of her/his scope from contract awards (S3 milestone) to removal from service (S12 milestone).
This requires to ensure the global coordination of all the activities to
• Deliver expected program figures as define in Medium Term Plan (MTP)
• Ensure consistency with customer expectation
• Limit risk exposure generated by program activities to an acceptable level
During Bids phase (S1 to S2 milestone), The Senior Program Manager ensures that the program team validate the RC and NRC estimates and associate assumptions (such as schedule and industrial logic) to ensure the delivery of a sound business case at S3.
Responsible for managing Technology Readiness Level and Manufacturing Readiness Level during R&T phase by:
• Managing operationally customer satisfaction, profitability of business plan and control risk level on the programs in her/his scope
• Ensuring application of program processes on the programs in her/his scope
• Participating in construction and approval of business plan during bid phase (S1 to S2)
• Building program MTP on the programs in her/his scope
• Monitoring program performance on the programs in her/his scope
• Ensuring program reporting (internal and external) on the programs in her/his scope
• Ensuring an efficient steering on the programs in her/his scope
• Ensuring deployment of efficient corrective action in case of drift on the programs in her/his scope
• Organizing program reviews (and PROMPT milestone for program in development and in service)
• Supporting Program audit on the programs in her/his scope
• Participating in program improvement process
• Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture;
• Travel requirements: Occasional travel (general guideline: once per quarter) both domestic & internationally.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Evening/night hours may be required.
• Extra hours may be required during business peaks.

Supervises the activities of program managers allocated to her/his programs
Coordinate with Programs managers to have a consistent approach towards customers.
Education and/or Experience:
• A bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of related experience
• OR a master's degree with at least 4 years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations will also be considered.
Knowledge/Skills:
• Ability to develop and coach team members in the following skills, financial management, contractual management, engineering development management,
• Career progression both in job responsibility and relevant education/training must be demonstrated.
• A strong background in managing program financials, business cases.
• A background in contractual negotiation
• Training and experience in applying Program Management standards and tools to a business. (Program planning, monitoring and control, integrated program management and risk management).
• Must understand constrain of operation activities (order fulfilment process, Turn Around Time, procurement cycle, learning curve, efficiency, production burden, cost escalation)
• Strong track record with proven experience, including experience leading cross-functional program teams is essential
• Experience working in a matrix organization.
