We are currently seeking a Senior Production Planner to join our campus in Irvine, CA. In this role, you will own the product supply from start to finish. You will keep the factory running smoothly by balancing site efficiency with inventory targets. You will create the production plan to meet our customers' requirements and maintain healthy inventory across our supply pipeline.

This position will work onsite at our campus in Irvine, California.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules and direct material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of raw and approved finished goods materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and potential production or material supply disruptions to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided on-time and at an optimal cost.
  • Schedule equipment and personnel, confirm material supply and demands, prepare work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, demand planning, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
  • Ensure supply availability for assigned products. Including analyzing inventory risks impacting backlog/back order and creating recovery plans.
  • Deliver and/or manage projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results


Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years supply chain experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience


Nice to Have
  • Experience employing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in supply chain activities, including using Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Excellent mathematics/analytics/statistical skills demonstrated through education or professional background
  • Prior planning and supply chain management experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with computer applications including Microsoft office
  • Master's Degree
  • APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Six Sigma, Lean and DMAIC expertise
  • Familiar with working in an ISO 13485 and FDA regulated environment
  • Strong communication skills (both verbally and in written) with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate with business stakeholders


For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. a7 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$82,400.00 - $123,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
