The anticipated salary range for this role is between $185,000.00 and $227,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. Role Description
The Senior Product Owner (Director) for Middle & Back Office (MBO) will be responsible for defining and executing the strategic product roadmap across post-trade operations supporting Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) businesses. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, operations, technology, risk, and control functions to drive platform modernization, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and scalable front-to-back processing solutions.
The successful candidate will possess broad capital markets product knowledge with deep expertise across FICC trade lifecycle workflows, including trade capture, confirmation, matching, settlement, collateral management, payments, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and operational controls. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to balance business priorities, technology constraints, and delivery objectives.
Role Objectives
• Own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog for MBO platforms and capabilities supporting FICC businesses.
• Drive transformation initiatives focused on automation, straight-through processing (STP), risk reduction, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with Front Office, Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to prioritize investments and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Serve as the accountable product lead for end-to-end trade lifecycle workflows across fixed income, rates, FX, repo, credit, and derivative products.
• Lead requirements definition, business process re-engineering, and target operating model development.
• Make value-based prioritization decisions and manage trade-offs across competing business demands.
• Champion data quality, controls, reconciliation, exception management, regulatory compliance, and operational resiliency initiatives.
• Oversee business case development, benefits realization, and KPI tracking.
• Provide executive-level communication, status reporting, and stakeholder management across business and technology leadership.
• Lead and mentor Business Analysts and Product team members while fostering a product-driven delivery culture
Qualifications and Skills
• 10+ years of capital markets experience with significant focus on FICC products and post-trade operations.
• Deep expertise across Fixed Income, Repo, FX, Rates, Credit, and Derivatives processing.
• Proven experience leading large-scale middle office, back office, or post-trade transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle events, settlements, confirmations, collateral, payments, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and operational controls.
• Experience working within Agile product organizations and managing strategic product roadmaps and backlogs.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders across business and technology organizations.
• Experience with platform modernization, workflow automation, data initiatives, and vendor integrations.
Preferred Qualifications
• Product management leadership experience within an investment bank, broker-dealer, or capital markets institution.
• Experience with front-to-back architecture and target operating model redesign.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and control frameworks affecting FICC operations.
• Familiarity with post-trade platforms, settlement utilities, market infrastructure providers, and enterprise data ecosystems.
